Lets crack this baby open
« on: May 02, 2010, 04:11:13 PM »
After the pod arrived thanks to the ADF Castor Matry immediately set out to open it up, they were in a vacuum room. All the air and everything else and been removed from the area, Matry and his assistants were in their hazard suits, which had its own air recycling system and didn't really need to be taken off for a few days. They were accompanied by two fully armored Archive soldiers who's armor had the same air system as the scientist's suits. Tests on the pod have revealed a weak point that would cause a massive failure in the pod's structure, it would basically fall apart if said point was damaged. The point was noted and written down for future technologies, Matry suggested a sort of small drone that would seek out the point while it was being dropped. Causing premature opening. They didn't know if the alien species was hostile, but even then having a upper hand never hurt anyone.

After a few tests they determined the only way to open the pod up without hitting the point would be a very powerful military grade laser, but as that would cause damage to the specimens inside it was ruled out. Hitting the point was the best option, which they did. By having one of the soldier fire a single round of Helios fire into the point.

This easily brought it open.

What was inside was awesome.

As the pod fell apart, this one a large one,  around seventy Mind Shredders fell out. They weren't the only things in it, but they were the smallest, and so they fell out fastest. Also inside, there was five Digesters, twenty Reavers, seven Guardians, and ten Workers. As they fell out, a few of them were crushed by the larger Digesters, destroying the specimens, but there were still more than enough to go around. One of the Wrokers fell out very close to the researchers, and its bladed tail snagged on the suit, but being the non-combat Caste it was, it wouldn't do much.

These Reavers were clearly made for close combat, with hammer weapons on their arms and a few with scythes, and the Guardians were a outdated model, as these were not made with any Elemental DNA, so this would have come from before the more recent attacks in this known universe.

"Organic and obviously a B-19 alien species.. You can tell by the varying type and organic make up.. They're one of the most dangerous class of sentient intelligence. They're harvesters of life." Matry announced. "They most likely have dangerous microbes, take a sample of everything, and I mean everything." Matry ordered, the hazard suit unaffected by the razor.

With that the scientists got to work, taking samples and running tests.

Obviously, the tests got no reaction from the creatures, as they were dead...But upon examination, it seemed that not all of them were perfectly intact. A single Mind Shredder had two words carved upon it, as if to tell anything who found them. Those words would not be found, more likely than not, in any database of the Archive, but it was written in the same characters used by the sentient species of that galaxy. The words were, 'Lorcar' and 'Maltruse', the names of the species and homeworld of them. To a normal person, such would have no meaning. But to those who thought about it...It was a taunt of sorts. Telling the name of yourself in the language used by those in that area...How else would they have known this language, other than being there themselves? And with nothing else to do as they starved to death, they would have had to do something...And that something was this taunt...That those who found them were running short of time, perhaps.
(other than that, I wouldn't have a response, since ya didn't post the experiments themselves)
