Tomes
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:07:04 PM »
Tomes aren't exactly technology, but rather a book that can cast spells with the aid of an intelligent being. They are about fifty times more powerful than standard magic, but at the same time tomes can only cast spells that have been inscribed into them, for example the tome-only Balberith, which generates a black hole with gravity lessened enough to take out only the intended target, and NOT the user. Because of this, many tomes come with a plethora of blank pages to add more spells. The known record is 300 blank pages. It doesn't take a lot of skill to cast spells using tomes either; this is because instructions on how to cast the spells in question are inscribed into the tome. There is one problem; they must be written in a language only magic users know. If someone who cannot use magic learns the language, all tomes written in that language cease to function and are nothing more than ordinary books at that point. This, however, enables something like even a pocket notebook to act like a tome, however it must have at least ten pages and they all must be bound in some way; even tape will work.

OOC Comments: Each individual tome should be individually requested, as few tomes are alike; for example Akihiko's (this character will be posted when a week has passed from Usagi's approval due to the laws of GE) Bedivere tome enables him to cast holy light magic, or to be precise, sol magic, the offensive counterpart of light magic.

This isn't really tech...you don't have to request magic, you know.

*points to the first four words in the starting post* I know.

The point is that I'm not requesting magic, rather, I'm requesting a medium of magic.

You don't have to request mediums of magic either... almost EVERYONE uses spell books.
Also, 50 times more powerful than standard magic you say, but what lvl of standard magic?

Erm... there are levels?

I'd probably say the level of magic that an ordinary mage can do, probably Lv2 in the character profiles.
