This is not a request, but rather an elaboration on a concept that two of my characters now use. I am posting it here, and I have no desire for it to be moved. This is for those who would call bull on me using it, just to give more details on what exactly this is capable of.
Written Magic
Written magic involves written words, symbols and the like. The symbols are a powerful form of magic that are at the disposal of the user of this magic. Only the thing at the moment in time, is that this magic if not done correctly has adverse reactions. The problem with the symbols also is that they have problems if they are summoned at the moment in time. The symbols are also however requiring immense levels of concentration to create at the moment in time. These also are not from any currently known language but rather a lost language that few in the galaxy know and there are no existing logs about the language in the galaxy besides a few magical compendiums.
Written Magic comes in many forms, but the most commonly used form of it is similar to something that already exists but isn't used much, that of runes. These are symbols however instead of runes and have to be drawn exactly. Further there is a limit to the time you have to finish one of these when you start drawing them, 5 minutes or 1 post to be exact. If you don't finish, then it finishes itself only not in the way you would want to happen.
Written Magic is currently stored in three known places at the moment in time. The records of time are one place where records of the magic would exist, but also the book of Lucien Dolos is one place where it would be stored as well. The book has the knowledge as the spirit within it originally made the technique as well. Also since this technique can be done by others if they find something with the knowledge in it, it has a requirement namely that a user of it must grant the capability to other users.
