The Wrath of Lato
« on: September 19, 2010, 03:07:40 PM »
Appearing atop the peak of a mountain, at the very top, was Kurai. As soon as she could, she dropped the virus to the ground and kept her harsh gaze focused on it. "Time to prove your worth." Kurai stated bluntly. "If you're not as powerful as those fools claim, then I'll destroy you myself. Got that?! So show me your damn skills!"

Stretching out her wings, Kurai flew up high to survey the planet she was on. She had chosen this one for the little power she had sensed from it. Normally she would have wanted to make the most violent entrance. But that wouldn't work in this case. Not for the plans she had in mind. Build this thing up, make it her bitch, and make Hikaru take all the blame. So for that, it was best to start small.

Raising her hands to the sky, Kurai began to heat the very air, causing unholy fire to rain down upon the planet. Black lightning cracked through the sky as the heat grew more intense and overbearing, and the planet began to shake violently as Kurai used the very forces of nature against it.

The Virus started to adapt to the environment, whether it was cold, or hot, or both. It spread, and it spread very, very quickly. It started to infect wildlife and then eventually civilization. The Virus covered their bodies, penetrated them, and went into their brain. It became obvious who was infected, by what seems to be swollen bloodstains, but it didn't matter, those who witness the infection were quickly infected within seconds. It only takes a few seconds to infect these pathetic beings. The Virus also went airborne and waterborne, making it irrelevant whether there are available hosts or not to spread. For a virus, this is bloody impressive. It would be the virus's dream. But this isn't any virus. It's THE Virus. Pretty soon, the whole planet will be consumed.

((I love how I've got next to nothing to work with here.))

The Bula civilians all run away from the infected and the viral clouds, thinking it would help. The Bula military begins firing on the infected bodies, hitting just as many innocents as infected in their fear. Their fighters take off, some spotting Kurai and charging at her, firing everything they can.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

If they were faster than the Virus's spread, they would find themselves surrounded, and then eventually infected. The Virus began to adapt to the attacks, and pretty quickly, too, which made it harder and harder to take down the infected with weapons that were already used on them. The Virus not only took over biological life, it also eventually took over mechanical objects, as well. AA defense systems have been subverted and shot at any fighters that were in the air.

Kurai lazily flew up higher into the atmosphere to avoid fire. Flicking her hand forward, winds began to blow violently. Picking up from a slight breeze, to heavy gusts around thousands of miles per hour.

The fighters not shot down by the AA guns were blown away by Kurai's wind, crash landing into the mountains. With the native military's weapons now ineffective, the planet had zero defense against the Virus.

"Well. That was easy." Kurai spat, landing nearby the most infected. "Next place then. You! Virus! Over here."

"Next place. I didn't free you so you could take over pitiful inferiors like this. So be ready." Kurai growled as she walked forward. "Because there will be no rest till every damn planet in the dimension is taken."

He smiled. "Don't worry," the infected being said. His voice seemed like many voices at once, and it was demonic. "We like doing what we're doing."

"Good." Kurai smirked. "Then you're coming with me." Without warning, Kurai grabbed the infected guy and quickly disappeared.
