Logic Error
« on: September 29, 2011, 05:07:42 PM »
An automaton is created to serve it's purpose, but with his creators gone Ares did not know what that purpose was anymore.  Upon discovering a planet that was uninhabited and yet gave off a tremendous signature of energy, but his sensors indicated it was not magic. Okay, then if this was not magic what could it possibly be that would be so powerful as to cause him to be alerted? Well, whatever it was Ares needed to find out. So he teleported into orbit of the planet after weaving the proper spells on himself, only he did not need to breathe. So no Oxygen Independency spell was cast as he did not need to breathe in his body. This planet had something strange about it, and Ares was determined that he would find out what said strangeness was and claim said power for himself. Still, if the planet was strange perhaps it held relics and other things that may be of use to him. So he would have to do something to investigate, but he did not wish to go down to the planet and enter the strangeness himself and then he remembered he did not have to. Why not use what he knew about tech to do his work for him? So, Ares held out his hand and shot a tractor beam from it onto one of the nearby asteroids and released a cloud of nanites, magically propelling them towards the asteroid.  The asteroid morphed and shifted until it had become one of the SDT units. Forming a protective shield around said unit to protect it from the atmosphere of the planet, he wrapped it up in MWCA made rope and then hurled it down to the planet below.  "Now what is down there I wonder?"

The probe began to show signs of simple wildlife and something much bigger until it appeared to slow at a rate of one million years to a second while in orbit of the planet.

So, the planet had simple wild life but something much bigger on it. This was cause for investigation but he would not yet risk himself. The droid?s visuals had slowed down tremendously and he was not getting any communication from it.  Now definitely more than ever this planet was something that he was becoming more curious about.  He sent out a burst pulse of magic, that would send tons of communications of varying varieties all with the same message to the planet below in attempts of getting in contact with whatever it was that controlled the planet.
"Hello, who owns this planet? Also, what is the high level of energy that is being detected by my sensors as coming from the planet?"

The very pulse as it came close to the planet was slowed as the droid was, yet the Citadel got the message loud and clear.
What do you want, mortal?
Was the message that seemed to resonate through Ares' very being, as if it were penetrating his timeline itself.

What I want is information on why this planet is giving off an intense power signature, and no magic signature as well is being detected on this planet so that I can add the planet and it?s native life and specifications to my databanks in order to make my records one more piece closer to completion.

This would be sent back in response to whatever had been able to breach the very fiber of his being and send a message that resonated through him. Some might be scared, but this just kept intriguing Ares even more and more with every passing moment. The power this planet possessed had to be truly staggering and if he could get his hands on even a fraction of said power? Well suffice to say he might actually have a good opportunity of finding his creators. This planet had a high level energy signature and that signature was not magic.
Yet if it was not magic what could the signature be?

This is Inarin. The power of the planet is not your business as it is guarded by Elder Jay Stryder.

When the android heard the words Jay Stryder, it attempted to check it's memory banks for any mention of the words Elder, or Jay Strider.  Upon finding none, the android transmitted another message below.  Now Ares was starting to get more than a bit confused.  Whatever power this planet had said to him that it was guarded by Jay Stryder, someone he did not even know. Information on this mystery person would later be needed to be found by Ares so that he could add that to his data banks as well.  No data was found on the Flora or Fauna of the planet either, much to the dismay of the android.

"Error, information on Jay Stryder not found in databanks. Clarification required as to who ?Jay Stryder? actually is.  Please respond."
"Error information on planet flora and fauna not detected.  Exclamation: This planet is an extreme logic anomaly. "

Those two messages would be sent back to the planet.

"Argh, more information. Age, race, appearance, how skilled they are with magic, current location is required. Also all data on what he is an elder of would be appreciated to complete records stored in my memory banks. "

If you thought Ares was starting to get hot under the collar before, now was even worse. If this was a cartoon, steam would be coming out of his ears as he was getting tired of the citadel being a logical annoyance, even though he did not know there was a Citadel he was getting tired of whatever it was being an annoyance. The android was experiencing conflicting logic due to the one word answer that the planet had given and the refusal the planet gave to give any more information.

Then find him.
The Citadel loved when those seeking information came to Inarin.

"Cannot find Jay Stryder without information on him. Provide said information. "

The logical side of Ares was trying to keep him calm. However that could no longer be as a crimson blood like aura surrounded his body. He had not the time or the patience to deal with something that would keep giving him the ring around. So, what did Ares do? Well first of all he cast an information gathering spell, keeping it limited to this dimension. It would bring him all information on Jay Stryder, so that he could find out about this guy and later kick his butt for designing something that was so aggravating.

All of the information provided to Ares by his spell were three facts;
Jay Stryder is a Templar.
Jay Stryder killed Plex.
Jay Stryder is currently at the P3C.
Anything else about him was shrouded in maybes and legend, none of it could be stated as fact.

No.

Wait, what were Templars? For those 3 facts that had been brought up, they brought up a whole new series of questions that plagued the android.  Information was required and if this annoying planet refused to give him said information then he would have to go to another source for it. Fortunately he did know where said information could be obtained. He was however reluctant to go there.  Uggh, the things he did some of the time to get his mission complete.  With that he shadow traveled behind after leaving a powerful  nanite fueled spell behind that would prevent his sensors from detecting the massive levels of power coming from Inarin again. He would not make the same mistake twice after all. "I'll find Jay Stryder on my own then."

The spell was undone into nought but harmless magic.
