Too bad for Kyle and the rest of the Tideans that they didn't take into account the ever rotating pulsar that most all the stars and planets of Vaccus orbit, cept' a few.
With the sweeping light beams from the pulsar upon every planet and star in the Galaxy, but Atrus and Lucis, even Nil was hit. Reflecting the beam by the substance that negates magic, to the closest star or planet near to Nil, Enwa. With the substance reflected to Enwa, the planet was hit by a beam of magic negation that lasted very slow due to the slowed time of the effects of Enwa being like a black hole.
That said, Kyle and the Tideans suffered magic loss, and the gravitational field was not affected. With the field back in place, Kyle and the Tideans were pulled to the planet. And thanks to the everlasting reflected rays of magic negation from Nil, teleportation and portals, became useless.
