The first event of Season 5, to kick off our season "officially" and to introduce the staff-sponsored "plotline" following the aftermath of the Plexan War eight years ago, will be held this Friday. It will likely last quite some time, and will be full of action and fun, much like the Summer 2011 event, Plexan Planes. So, what, you ask, is our event?
Decades ago, K2323 Tyris held a legendary tournament, the Excel Tournament, attempting to find who could excel beyond the strongest of magic users and claim their place as a leader among the sages. The tournament was one of the biggest events of the century, making it into the history books among the three strongest magic kingdoms of the time, the three kingdoms of the Sage Three. It was also the event which marked the return of the dark magician known as Zere after years of hiatus. He successfully used mind-control seals to manipulate Kai Tyris, one of the most powerful sages of the universe, into allowing him entrance into the stadium and allowing him to attack the event, causing unparalleled destruction.
It's been several years since the last Excel Tournament... But now, it's back. And the prize? The prize is to become a legend. The prize is an ancient magic which only K2323 and a few others are capable of using, a magic so strong that it has been forgotten. But that's not it. The true prize is to be recognized as the strongest. Because the winner of this tournament is stronger than all others. The winner of this tournament is, like the Sage Three, royalty. The winner is Excel.
