Placement
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:38:38 PM »

You are a secret under-cover spy at a fancy dinner party and your cover is blown.

As a former KGB operative F. Kovek could not remember his own name. He had many aliases, each one numbered in metal lock boxes at his safe-house. The safe-house itself was born out of the cold fires of the war of the same temperament. Today while looking his intimidating best in a suit without a tie, why no tie? He hated ties? Why hate ties? Why put the noose that someone would use to kill you on by yourself with no rhyme of reason besides looking better in conservative bureaucratic aristocrat’s ideological opinion? However, he did not feel at the top of his game, which is deadly in this business and not to only himself.

He felt like he was on the wrong side of the world, you’d think after the iron curtain came down he would feel at home in LA as the latest accessory to a celebrity. Experienced special forces security guards. However, for this job he had only one identity in his collect of metal lock boxes that had the credentials to still get into the untied states, and its corresponding number was 666. Know F. Kovek was never naturally a guy that would give credence to supernatural luck. However he attributed his survival in the most impossible situations to nothing more then luck. No amount of skill, can cause you to be the only one of your unit to survive a AC-130 bombardment, that was luck, and luck alone.

666 being in his opinion the most unlucky number in the history of lucky numbers. He felt so strongly he almost did not take the job… almost.

However as he stood at on of two security point essential to his clients protects, the Hopi native that held the other position kept giving him a strange look. The kind of look that broadcast on radio waves only those who have seen combat “I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!” as loud as possible. However the more he tried to figure out how this man would have known who he was before being hired for the same job.

In one moment F. Kovek, with the current alias as Dimitri Goschek would know just why he had that look and why he was about to die. As the client sipped on wine that could pay a McDonalds’s manager’s salary for two years , the Hopi native shot two rounds into F. Kovek’s check. Downing in his own blood he asked the native American with a spray of crimson froth one simple question, “Why?”

The answer was a wallet picture of hopi man as a child. The same picture with was in a CIA agent’s wallet that he killed… the first man he had ever killed. The only man’s death that F. Kovek cried over before stoning his heart to the art of murder.

As the Hopi native was cuffed and paramedics tried to revive F. Kovek. Beelzebub ;laughed as he licked his four wings with his long insect like tongue.

I call plagiarism.
Looking at this, and your current literacy skill in posts.....
There's something wrong with this picture.

This has full out literacy, your posts on the other hand, cause a person to cringe in fear from the inability to read them.
Hell, I have to read them 8 times.

Prove this is yours.

I understand you not wanting to believe I can be literate when I want to be. However there is no plagiarism, it is my writing. Prove it? That would be a more convoluted argument then trying to figure out if Homer was one person that wrote Iliad and Odyssey or a collective cultural representation of Greek mythology that was recorded... I am partial to the formulaic bard theory.

However, I wrote it and unless you have evidence your claim is baseless and bias. My other posts very in quality because most of my writing is spur of the moment with a loosely defined skeleton of what I have planned. That in itself is no foundation for such an intolerable accusation.

However, it is more likely that you could not even begin to think me as an equal or superior. So in your vanity you cannot believe what your eyes see. It is when our pride is injured that our vanity is hardest to wound.

Oh and:

You are climbing a mountain and are about to fall.

From a distance you would not be able to see the man on the remote forsaken mountain cliff. This man was the self-aggrandizing husband to Mrs. Macpherson. She could not bring herself to climb that cliff face with her husband.

Something deep down felt foreboding and final in her bosom.  Before Mr. Macpherson embarked on his ascent, his wife had beseeched him not to attempt it. Yet in his hubris Mr. Macpherson refused to even consider heeding his wife‘s counsel.

He was now remembering her desperate kiss good-eye, as he was half way up cliff. Fear snared at his chest as he realized that the next handhold was too far and the one below him was too close. Mr. Macpherson tapped his head against the cliff face in a frustrated gesture. Searing tear dripped down his face as he realized just the kind of bind he was in.

He knew he was not going home with his beloved wife.

She watched him with eyes full of mournful worry, she prayed to her God for his safety. Begging for her lovable fool of a husband to return unharmed. However, divine intervention was not granted as Mr. Macpherson reached out his leg down to return to his wife and slipped. As she saw her husband fall, Mrs. Macpherson’s entire world seemed to halt as she saw his flailing silhouette hit the ground with a dull thud.

The mountain echoed for minutes Mr. Macpherson’s final “I love you Beth.” Mrs. Macpherson held her husband’s bloody corpse whispering his name streaming seething tears until she finally died of dehydration.

The coyotes would not eat of the tragic couple, flies would not lay their eggs in their flesh, and ants would not march to the plentiful food source.

Nicolle and Bethany Macpherson were buried under the sands the Sonora desert in each others arms.

He could've spent long on it. Look at my placement thingy; its by FAR longer than most posts I'll ever do.

The way I see it, there is two possibilities.

One: Hikaru is correct, and you indeed plagiarized the majority or entirety of the post and have attempted to use a combination of psychology, sociology, and partially irrelevant historical examples to fool us into thinking that you did not. The proof backing this is that Hikaru is indeed correct, and your level of literacy that has been seen across the board thus far makes even my nine year old neighbor seem like a novelist. This is something that I agree with Hikaru on wholeheartedly, and even you must admit that there is an absolutely massive difference.

Two: You, Night_grue, are correct, and you simply did not put in the kind of effort that is even near the minimum expectation of this board while posting IC. The massive variance in your post qualities present us, as teachers, a very large problem that will most likely take all of us together to rectify, and even then, will still depend on you actually bothering to put forth the requisite effort. This isn't a casual RP site, where you can get away with half-assed posts that are exceedingly difficult to make sense of.

Hikaru does have proof of her argument in the form of the previous posts that you have made on this board. The huge gap in quality raises a valid argument, in my own personal opinion, and I do question the validity of your placement posts. I understand that you two have a rather, unfriendly, past and honestly, I find that fact irrelevant. She is a teacher, who acknowledges her faults in her field and has/is attempting to improve.

On the other hand, none of us can tell whether your argument is true or not. There is no evidence showing that the posts are indeed your work, and that your posting in the In Character sections of the board were simply lazy.

Judging solely from the contrast between this topic, and the other posts you have written on this board, you have massive potential. The problem is, you do not seem to care. Rather than using the abilities you have to the fullest, you instead half-ass it and hardly put forth any sort of effort. It is because of this that I foresee you being a very difficult student to teach because of your lack of drive.

Also, saying how convoluted an argument would be when you are asked to submit proof that the writing is indeed your own, and not ripped from some other source on the internet, is useless. It will not stop us from continuing to ask you for proof. If anything, it will simply annoy us, thus making us less likely to attempt to teach you.

Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

I don't believe proof is needed. Let the man live.
