Ship Grade Up

The K Empire had been one of the allies of the Narrikian Empire according to the documents Jeff remembered reading at one time.  So he sent a transmission from his newly acquired Shine Days Class Starship that he had named simply Wraith to the K Empire personnel round and about this area. K Empire, this is the Wraith. Permission to dock and buy more armaments to put onto the ship?

We are in a heightened state of security at the moment. We may negotiate the trade, and send your supplies via a small escort ship, if that is acceptable. Please remain in orbit. What sort of armaments are you seeking to acquire?

For a moment, Jeff paused and thought about the question. The weapons he needed were going to have to be ones that could blast through even the toughest shields of the Anrufe for one thing.  Other upgrades needed included a better and quite faster means of FTL Travel. The current one did not seem to work.  So this needed correction if Jeff was to get any actual work done on his mission that Empty had assigned him.

I need long range scanning equipment, probes, and a couple of cannons capable of atomizing any of the Anrufe ships. I also need an upgrade to the FTL Travel of this ship.

A favor to be used at the time of your choosing, and also some new technology.

Jeff was not hesitant about this and so began to bring up a certain file...one that contained specifications of a secret weapon...the Nanite one he used. Trading them this could indeed be worth it.

Okay, so they could not trade military grade technology which was what he needed. For right at this moment, a ship like his seemed far too vulnerable and defenseless. True it had ordinance, but not enough to bash a path against each and every one of the Anrufe ships. Clearly Jeff had some work to do.  Finally deciding to answer, Jeff sent out a transmission.
Very well. I thank you for your time.
With that, he moved his ship to a safe distance and activated the FTL travel. This allowed him to leave and search for people who could upgrade his ship. The ship was in bad need of it given the circumstances if he were to spy on the Anrufe for Empty he might need some special help.
