Empire Name:The Preternatural Coalition, previously the Coven of Blood Haven.
Primary Race:Vampires, though there has been a recent influx of Possessed, as well as any other preternatural or otherwise 'monster' subspecies of another member that wants to be a member of the coalition. Base species is really anything, no rhyme or reason in that regard.
Empire Description: The Coalition is a new rebranding of a very secretive government. Formerly, it was simply the Coven of Blood Haven, a planet where Vampires were able to remain safe and live in peace with others of their own kind. Above all else, it was secretive; only a select few offworld Vampires knew it existed, and these were just those chosen to invite other Vampires to join the Coven. Upon their world, they did possess what could be considered a slave market of non-Vampires, but this practice was strictly for the purpose of Feeding, so that the Vampires wouldn't be forced to cannibalize one another for blood. All in all, it WAS a very good deal for the Vampires, and they lived in a golden age upon the planet.
Then...The wave of anti-magic came. No one knew what'd happened, but suddenly even the magic they didn't need to expend blood to use was simply...Gone. The blood-slaves broke out of their illusion-induced stupor, and created a mass-riot to escape. They didn't succeed, obviously, but they did a lot of damage before they were subdued. After things calmed down, the leaders of the Coven got together to contemplate the potential ramifications of this event, and realized that most other races (admittedly justifiably) considered Vampires and their ilk to be monsters, creatures to be killed, hunted, and slain. And, in a somewhat unusual fit of caring, they realized that Vampires weren't the only ones. They'd been looking after their own for all this time, and they weren't about to abandon their people in their most vulnerable time, when Mortals finally had a level playing field to rise up against Vampires-whether they were guilty or innocent of any crimes. The only thing was...Well, now they were expanding whom they considered to be 'their own'. Any preternatural that would be persecuted for what they were, or any Dark Mage now without the magic to keep themselves and their studies safe. They outright announced their existence to the major empires, but more specifically the people that their society applied to. All that they asked in return was that, as citizens of the Coalition, the refugees aid in its defense in any way they were able, whether it be by technological innovation, stolen technologies, even as grunt soldiers if they were able. If nothing else, at least to be willing to fight for their new homes, or protect those not able to. While not all of them, many refugees are willing to band together for this new Coalition, to protect this new home of theirs.
Additional Information: I will be requesting Blood Haven a bit later than the approval of this Empire, so that I can get them some technology and ships and the like first.
