Vionix Technology Part II
« on: August 11, 2012, 02:12:12 PM »
Thunder and Lightning:

((Two of these, both with a second ring structure at the back))

The Thunder and Lighting are known as Storm Class Sub Titans, a rather strange and radical idea the Vionix decided to implement for their combat fleet. The Thunder and Lightning are technically two separate ships. Each of which is mounted with a Displacer Barrier, Kinetic and Energy dampeners and M.A.R.K.E.R to provide armour and first lines of defense to the ship. Both of them also have an M.M.N.F.R to provide power to everything and around 20 B.M.N.F.R in case of failure of the main reactor. The weapons on these ships however is much different from any other ship in the Vionix fleet. Each of the ships carries what is known as a Decimator Anti-Matter Cannon, this weapon is highly feared when shields go down and these ships are around. This weapon fires a frigate sized shell at a high velocity, about the same as any other Rapture cannon as this weapon is designed not to be noticeable at all compared to other weaponry. The main cause of damage is what is inside the shell, inside each of the shells is a one hundred pound core of Anti-Matter held in a gravitic field to stop it from contacting any other matter, once the shell strikes its target however the field is dropped and when the core contacts the matter around it, it detonates with the force of a 1950 megaton nuclear device, usually tearing most ships apart with a single shot from this cannon. Thunder and Lightning however have one more trick up their sleeves, when the battle is turning nasty they can move into very close proximity to one another and connect, the ring structures upon their hulls lock and form a large focusing array of shielding in the middle of the ships, enabling their final weapon to become active as well as doubling their power, shielding and weapon output. When the ships have connected, they are capable of firing the Prism Cannon, an experimental laser that is capable of tearing a super capital in twain, unfortunately this shuts off the other weapons on the ship and takes 6 posts to charge up, when it does so however then any ship hit by the laser, unless it is a sub-titan or Titan, is most likely destroyed, even with their shields up from the massive power output from the weapon.

Aegis Defense Station:

Aegis Defense Stations are massive Space Stations that the Vionix employ for defense against enemy ships, these were only recently designed to combat the large amount of random races appearing in the Arcanis system. These stations are able to take extremely heavy punishment, each of them protected by a Displacer Barrier, two Kinetic Dampeners and two energy dampeners as well as double layered M.A.R.K.E.R. These stations are capable of taking more punishment than several Super Capital ships and are about the size of the moon. Arcanis III employs sixteen of these stations around it to protect it, VII has six of them and VIII has ten. The actual weapons of the Stations are also extremely deadly. They mount a single Decimator cannon each, around three hundred thousand rapture cannons along all of the arms of the ships, six Rampage Lances each, one on each of the arms and millions of Spider and Scorpion defense systems, making them capable of dishing out just as much, if not more damage than they can take. Each of these stations is powered by a pair of M.M.N.F.R, one is used for power and the other is a back-up in case the first one breaks or is shut down. These stations also have AM, AP and AT fields surrounding them to prevent any other way except brute force affecting them, forcing enemies to take the massive stations on. In the event that the enemy is too close or the station is about to die, it can detonate both of its cores in something called the Armageddon Protocol which is capable of destroying most ships within several thousand miles of the station. The Stations themselves sit a good distance away from The planets they protect so that their weapons can't backfire against their protectorates.
