An odd world to colonize perhaps?
« on: August 19, 2010, 03:04:28 PM »
With the planetary assests on Tefillin under control and in a time of relative peace, the more outlier of the Zarethian race decided to more out and add colonies to the empire's glory. To further this goal, this planet, relatively unknown to most of the galactic community was a good target for the first stages of the colonization effort.

The Zarethians, star faring as they are, came across the planet after the Lorcar attacked andd consumed their original planet and colonies. At the time they did not have the mind, or resources, to colonize the planet. But they came back. Now five colony capital ships escorted by the ships of the HWDF the Athena, the Ouranos, the Ares, the Sigurd and the Atlas came into orbit around the planet. Unable to scan for sentient life-forms because of the mass of ecology, they sent down lightning-type assault pods full of warrior and a diplomat to scout out the area.

The pods landed in the northern regions of the largest continent and begun to scout the area for the colony ships.

"Hey ma! There's a damn aircraft in da back yard! I think its one of dem spacer majiggies from outer spaces!"

"Shoot em, pa!"

A Deman wearing overall-like clothes came out from a wooden log-cabin onto a balcony overlooking the swampy waters with a shotraygun. He quickly loaded the shotraygun and pointed the gun towards the water where a spacepod had just landed. "Come on out, you space yankees!"

OOC: Really? Hillbillies? And a shortraygun would be a laser shotgun correct?

The 'space yankees' did indeed come from the metal womb of their Lightning Drop-pod, but there were around fifty of them. And they were all equipped with High-tech ZPAA suits and carrying standard anti laser shields. They raised their weapons unanimously, but were waved  down by one of the soldiers, this one wearing black and gold marking on his helmet.

The soldier approached the space hillbilly and put out his hand in front of him, trying to elicit a calmed reaction from the person.

OOC: Yep.

"Damn space yankee! You're from dem spaceship worlds, ain't ya? Near dat big ol' spaceship. I ain't ever gone past dat ship, and I ain't ever planning on it either, so you can take your space weapons and mozey on back from which ya came, cause we ain't have none of dat space yankee delusion talk bout rebuildin da spaceships and making da technology mo' advanced down here, no sir," the hillbilly announced.

The man, for it did look like a man in the armor, cocked his head to the side for a second. Then he took off the armored helmet and it was actually a woman, around 32 years old in appearance. She looked exactly like a human. She said, in a calm, soothing voice "We only come here to be friends, and live in peace with one another. We don't come to bring disruption to the lives you have built here. We are only looking for a home. Surely you can understand this idea?"

As they spoke, the ships in orbit sent their colony equipment to the least populated area's they could find. Along with crew. They began to build small settlements, that were hovering over the wild swamplands, as to not disturb the native populace.

"Yes, we do have advanced technology, but, we also have other resources. You might have something that you are in want of... Medical supplies? Healers? Other objects that are valuable to you? We are not evil, and we don't want to become enemies with you here."

The Zarethian woman looked at him oddly, almost confused. She looked at where she was standing and where the pod was. About 200 feet apart.  Not to mention that she was at least 15 feet away from the inbred hillbilly."That is a very large lawn you have. And I promise you, no one is going to touch your daughters." With that, she turned and walked back towards the pod, where the pilot was already prepping for flight to the colonization areas.

And after such fine and refined negotiations with the natives, who were so eloquent and quaint in their hospitality, the Zarethians continued with their colonization plans.
