And i've stated somewhere that Alpha wants peace, so doming trillions to their deaths would be rather counter-productive in his eyes.

Fine. I'll work with it. Also... May want to keep the RvB references out of plots, Lyoko. I know you're a Halo fan but Alpha AI? Hm... seems a bit fishy to me...

Lyoko, I am not complaining that things didn't go my way. I am not even complaining about the direction they went in. Like I said, I'm fine with that. I, however, am not at all fine with the explanation for it. It has got to be one of the stupidest ideas for a story I have ever heard of. Possibly THE stupidest idea for a story I have ever heard of. Next time, skrew inactivity, wait for backup, and push the three or four events we already have going on.

Swift: Im not the staff now am I? I dont have the backing power. Now, had the staff actually asked for help...
So what? Event ideas are event ideas. If the staff paid attention to what the members want, then events would actually benefit the majority of the users. If any ideas were actually posted here instead of 'I want an event that's like this and that to benefit me.' Those aren't really ideas. If they posted the idea title and a description, things might be different.

Who cares if you're staff or not? Ideas are ideas. If the staff like it(or the majority of the members) then they should use the idea.

.The idea of all code being derivative from a single source is stupid enough to begin with, especially for a multiple-person RP. I've wanted to make my characters, the Heliphlein, different. They came about hidden from the rest of the universe and have developed tech from scratch. Their pixels are supposed to be hexagons rather than squares. There is literally no way that Alpha could connect to their systems through this explanation, unless you said that it was just that good. However, we've been through this before. Hikaru and Nisorin shut me out when I tried to request a ship that could hack into a ship of different technology without it be metagaming. As they said it, no Hollywood hacking.

Actually, all code ALL code is based from binary. We shut you out because it would take years. However if a being is purely binary and in a way an embodiment of that base code, then yes they could in theory take over all code in existence. Because every computer reads binary in the end.

Swift: As well, my topic was what TYPE of event they wanted. What they wanted it to focus on between battling, characterization or the like. I dont see how you didnt get that considering it was a giant freaking poll!

That is a matter of opinion. See as all our computers derive from one point all of them do use binary. But that doesn't mean that all alien technology is going to the same thing as the rest of us. I mean what if they use a different form of binary that is in fact not binary at all. That is a very narrow minded assumption to be honest.

It's still the type of topic used to generate ideas.

It was more designed to show the staff what kind of event we wanted as opposed to, you know, tournament after tournament.

regardless, it should hand out ideas so they don&t have to reuse ideas.

No, Swift. Thats not at all what it was meant for. We were letting the staff come up with the event ideas but we were showing them what type of event we preferred. Completely different subjects.
Besides, the staff generally make it pretty clear about what they think about members giving plot ideas. It usually goes along the lines of "We'll take it under consideration *shoves in drawer to be forgotten about*"

We didnt know they were desperate! They never let on that they wanted us to help with ideas or could use the help! Instead they eventually just shoved this very unpopular event in our faces, seemingly without regard to how we may react.

They didnt even ask the other staff member what he thought about it. They just went through with it. If they had asked, put up a topic like Hiro's done, then I wouldve given ideas, Nik would've given ideas... But now they've gone and pissed people off or driven some away.

And this is a reason of why this board fails so badly.
