The message was not received directly by Gregory though he was informed of its contents and politely declined showing up in person. Instead, it was read by a high-ranking government employee, this particular one a Marquis in Mechera society. He conferred with his highers, and their group met up with the Diplomat's branch of government to decide exactly what course of action to take. After a few seconds normal time of deliberation(a few hours from their perspective), they determined that a few Diplomats would attend the ascension. Additionally, one of the diplomats who possessed ties to the noble classes, sent a message back to the K Empire:
We of the Mechera Empire have received your invitations, and would be delighted to send emissaries to attend this event. Additionally, I have spoken with a friend of mine, a Duke working as part of the Machina Corporation, and with your graces they would be interested in providing financial support for the event. In return, they ask merely for exclusive media rights to cover the Event for Mechera Media networks. Is this acceptable?
