IRL, it's another mythical lore of the Phoenix. (Every ethnic group and country has their own legend of the bird.) In RP, I plan to make it not the Phoenix, but a distant relation to them, using derivative of many different birds and legends. If the legend I use isn't approved, then just forget about approving the race. It's a concept insert, whether or not it's
allowed, remains to be seen.
Simurgh: A bird of many different forms. It closely resembles the eagle in appearance, but takes aspects of the phoenix. A bird of prey, with 6 wings, and rainbow colored plumage. Each feather being a prism array of colors. In its true form, it's the size of a titan ship when full grown (its egg the size of a capital ship.) Its feather tips, talons, and beak, are as sharp as diamond, and can therefore cut through (most earth materials.) It has blessed immortality, and is a bird of healing. Able to heal any ailment, or wound. This means, its blood, is valuable. It also, eats energy.
A distant relative of the phoenix, the origin goes as followed.
In the Garden of Eden when Eve fell, tempted by the serpent to eat the forbidden fruit. Upset by her situation and jealous of creatures still innocent, she tempted all the other creatures of the garden to do the same. Only the Phoenix resisted. As a reward, the phoenix was given eternal life.
The phoenix, then, like all other races, populated through other birds and animals, and branched out to many different birds. The Simurgh being one of them. Then when the Phoenix's later took sage form, so did the many distant relatives, except the Simurgh.
The Simurgh was different. There was only one, as only one could exist at a time, and it wasn't a bird of regular flames, like its distant ancestor, but a bird of healing. It's other ancestor being the dove, the bird of peace from the Noah legend. Because of this, and its blessed immortality, its flames are of rainbow color, and are of its spirit. Because its immortality, it doesn't burn out through using its spirit energy/spirit flames. Originally, it was left in Eden, till Eden was done away with. Then it was given free reign of the new/lost Eden. Illuser. It was given the job to guard the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
But when some finally found Illuser, and tried to eat of the fruit (failing the test,) it was tainted by each death that happened, by the sin of each unworthy lingering.
When finally, enough, sin had tainted the bird, it took sage form as well, and left Illuser to the sage dimension, but made a mistake, and found its self in another dimension. Because of being tainted, it started to attack the sentient races of the dimension, each and every one, it could. Eventually it met the wrong race and the races destroyed each other in the fight.
But because of its blessed immortality, instead of being destroyed, its spirit was split into hundreds and maybe thousands of pieces, each piece becoming a Simurgh child. Thus a Simurgh race. Because of being split, so was the taint from the sin, and the race were healers, as well as sinners. (Normal much?)
Abilitiy:
As said before, the Simurgh race (Not as powerful as being the single Simurg,) is a creature of spirit fire. Fire of their spirit, that due to their blessed immortality doesn't kill them when used, that heals every ailment and wound. But because of being split, its powers are weaker, and not as powerful as the original Simurgh.
Due to the taint, that was also split, the Simurgh race has good and bad healing.
On one side, they can heal any ailment and wound, even viruses, though they need to be first infected with it to know it, and develop the natural immunity towards it, before they can help others. Very skilled in ressurection spells.
On the other side, they can heal so well, they can heal a person of their good things as well. Such as bacteria needed to survive, heal the dead (necromancy type dead,) back to life. Example: Gets attacked by the dead, can bring them back to flesh.
They can also of course, take their bird form, any time. And as above, they eat energy. So they can absorb some attacks, but can be made to explode if absorbed too many.
They do have a soul, but their spirit energy flows through it to create the spirit fire. Because of the blessed immortality, when killed, they split and multiply. But the more multiplied, the weaker the results will be.
If approved, the race will be open to request, without getting my permission. If you make a character of it, you can add to the origin what you want, through your character. HOWEVER, if request, you must follow through it right. I said they were in another dimension, you must explain in your bio, why the left. You must detail your character.
(And Hawkeye, NO CRASH DUMMIES, if you request one, you request ONE. And you, stick with that one. And don't insert stupid stuff into the origin to use the character and race as a tool, instead of a character. And no NPCing thousands of Simurgh at your call, unless yours gets killed and multiplied.) The rest can request, Hawkeye however, has to have his character personally approved.
