I'M THE TYPE OF PERSON TO TAKE IT PERSONAL
« on: January 30, 2013, 06:35:08 PM »
For the past couple of weeks, there had been a stakeout at one of the largest banks in Tefillin. Nobody had known it, but the Cult of Revenge had their eyes on the building. Who came in, who left. Where the exits were. Scrounged blueprint reports had shown alarm systems... They knew security, what kind of weapons they had, the schedules... And now, it was time to strike. The forces had been assembled, the plans had been made.

It's on now, any minute, now that we've seen it all

A trio of hover vans appeared driving insanely. They rolled up the the steps of the banks, the vans driving straight through the glassy front most banks seemed to favor. They trampled and ran over several people on the way in. In the middle of the lobby, they stopped and out hopped eighteen people in total.

And second, you called but I'm calling you out.
Any minute, I've never been one to give in.
Any day now, it has to end before we begin.
Any second. You called but I'm calling you out.

They wore black robes. One carried a flag. On all their uniforms was a uniform logo: a blue elephant. These were members of the Cult of Revenge, and they were part of the Misery branch, essentially special forces. Of these 18, three were Precious. They caused chaos in the lobby, and rushed to block the front. Nobody could get out the front.

Next, firesquads of three blocked any and all side entrances and exits.

These eyes, they see more than you know.
We're all dressed in our best so take it or leave it.

Simultaneously, several squads of six ran rampant in a perimeter around the bank, some were Precious. Though it seemed random, they strategically blocked intersections and bombed out some more populated buildings, using rubble to block ways in from the ground, this would hopefully cause more chaos and draw some attentions away from the bank, as well as tactically making rescue forces jobs a little bit more difficult.

A Full Squad (32) took to the skies, 27 cultists led by 5 Precious. They acted as overwatch and would prevent close air support from appearing.

After the squads successfully scattered civilians, disabled cars on the road and blocked intersections, they jumped onto the roofs. Tainted backpacks came off, and the technology morphed into squad automatic machine guns, the equivalents of mounted machine guns. They began firing on the streets, disabling more cars beyond their barricades and killing civilians.

Then, three full squads stormed all entrances and killed all security personnel, which would cause some casualties. They rounded up everyone in the building and stashed them in large groups, under guard.

Three Vice-Prophets then came into the building, the leaders of the operation. Once the bank was taken, all civilian killing ended. Between the busy bank, civilians in the buildings around the bank, and people in the streets, there were probably over two hundred hostages stashed in the bank.

Nobody make a move, everybody on the ground.
Let me see your hands, bring the fucking cameras out.

This operation happened in a matter of minutes, and in the end, it looked like this.

The opertation went nearly flawlessly, the security teams that the bank employed were among the first killed. Two were crushed as the vans burst the glass window front, a third was felled by stray glass shrapnel into a vital vein, arterial blood spouting out uncontrollably as he vainly struggled to stem the flow of his lifeblood. The other three individuals were shot and killed by the trained cultists, their civilian class body armor hardly of any use against military projectiles.

The other, noncombatant civilians fled everywhich way, trampling several people as they attempted to flee. Many hid wherever they could find a hiding spot, under a desk, even in the vault, sealing it behind them and turning on the AM/AT/AP field.

The civilians, for the most part, hunched in the middle of the bank, huddling down together, whispering fearfully to one another. They were bloodied, and a wild fear lurked within their eyes. They were terrified beyond reason. One broke from the formation, a small, purple haired boy with green freckles slipped from his frightened mother's grasp despite her best attempts and fled towards a hole in the glass windows caused by stray fire. He almost made it, but his mother's startled gasp of horror, though quickly stifled, caused three cultists to look around. The boy was just at the hole when a cultist's weapon burst his small body open, covering the glass  in blood.
His mother began to sob, so they shot her too. After that, everyone was compliant and quiet. No one dared look at the two corpses and nobody tried to escape.

Quickly, the Zarethian police had arrived at the scene, flying down from hovercars, landing outside of the perimeter. After they had set up a barricade of their own, the woman in charge, a short, green haired Zarethian in her mid-350's used a voice amplification spell.

"This is the Zarethian Police, release the hostages unharmed and you will be given a fair trial. If any further harm comes to them, you will be executed on the spot. Come out with your arms up." Though calm and collected, her voice echoed throughout the bank.

Zarethian officers began to advance through the buildings and streets, raising their weapons to meet any cultists they saw.

There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

One of the vice-prophets in charge floated down to the building top nearest to the woman in charge. He stared down all the police around the perimeter, and glanced at the green haired woman like she was a bug to be stepped on.
"Move in, and we'll kill them. One by one, slowly, painfully. Rest assured none of us value our lives. The hit squad in the senator's office should prove that. Amy Jacobs-" He spat as he said the name,
"Will attest to that fact. Lower the AT field. Let us walk with the money, and no more death has to happen today." He held his gaze without blinking or flinching.
