The Wretched Hive
« on: June 04, 2012, 11:35:34 PM »
The Lorcar deployed to this world two of their Hornets, and two of their Wasps. They didn't know of the event that left mages without power, and honestly they didn't care. Right this moment, they hungered. And when the Locusts hungered...They hunted.
But there was more than simple hunger at stake. The Brood King had a plan, a plan that required a new planet, not necessarily controlled but at least occupied for a time longer than the usual Hunting and Harvesting took. And this one...Well, it'd make a good enough target.

The small fleet advanced upon the planet, but yet strangely...They did not begin with their usual Psychic Scream to disorient their target's population. This time, they got nearby and psychically checked the surrounding space for any defending fleets or ships. While they did this, they let loose the Swarm:Yellow Jackets, Bumblebees, Worker Bees, and normal Bees flew from the larger Bioship's 'hangers', buzzing this way and that. It had been much too long since the last successful raid; the Lorcar had been forced to resort to strip-mining barren worlds to maintain their fleet and replenish lost biomass(through conversion of resources, of course). Such tactics provided little chance to grow, only bide. And unless they could take frwsh Biomass, not create it from a barren world, they'd never Harvest new DNA to repurpose. Thus, the new tactics they used, and the Brood King's newest scheme for them to implement. And the Swarm was all too eager for a good Hunt. They were anxious with anticipation...But first, they must know if there is a sizeable resistance.

The only thing that remained besides the mist Green and Black letters in the Old Tongue was  the words, Abortion Ecstasy floating where Cruor used to be. Oddly, its seemed these letters used to burn... but were quite dark now. There were not other planets or lifeforms in this system.

With no apparent resistance for e to be had, the Swarm was directed down to the planet itself, as well as several Bio-Pods. The four Bioships stayed at their distance warily,  but fully prepared to use the full force of their psychic power.

Assuming nothing stopped the Biopods from touching down upon the world, they would release their contents:Military and Factory-Caste Locusts. The biggest Bio-Pods contained Breeders, Guardians, and Workers, while many medium sized ones contained Digestors accompanied by Assassins and Mind Shredders. The small ones were by far the most frequent, containing Squads of Soldiers led by Commanders, with Reavers thrown into the mix.
And then, there was a single one, bigger than even the Breeders' Pods, containing a massive blob of cells capable of restructuring themselves however they saw fit. The Bio-Mechanic Caste of the Lorcar. This would be crucial to their plans, even in the unlikely case there was no Metal-Tech to sack on this world. Strangely enough, no Planet-Crackers were deployed. In any case, by the time any of these landed, the Swarm would be there already, clearing the landing zones of any life, any at all, so that the Lorcar could get started with the Terraforming process, and construction of the Bio-Pools for any Biological Materials needed and found to be broken down.

OOC:Er, you said other planets. I took that to mean it was the only one in the solar system. Is Cruor destroyed, then? For what it matters, the Locusts didn't know where it was ORIGINALLY and aren't going to there if it WAS moved, they'd be headed towards the planet, not where it once was. A empty solar system wouldn't have registered to them in the first place, so...

OOC: Destroyed is the wrong term... but considering that magic is out of play for a while... lets just say Crour is unavailable for comment at the moment. Its solar system is empty, in mist, with giant letters forming two words orbiting where the planet was.

OOC:Hrnn...Trapped in a pocket dimension or something, but still in same space then? Mostly out of curiosity than anything else.
As well, now I need a new target. I was under the impression there was one here, but if there isn't I guess the Locusts wouldn't even make a pit stop. DX
