Character Requests: Template / Info Thread

So, you want to roleplay? You've come to the right place! But before you can jump into the exciting adventures of our plot, you should make a character by following the instructions below. Be advised, your character should be well thought out and developed. If you have any comments/questions about the request process, please PM an admin or a global moderator.

Steps to creating a new character:

1. Create a new topic. - http://shatteredplanes.com/forum/index.php?action=post;board=7.0
2. In the topic Subject, clearly state the name of your character.
3. In the body of the post, please fill out the template below.
4. Save/submit your post, and wait for two staff members to respond with "Approved".
5. Your post will be moved to "Accepted Characters". Have fun!

GUIDE TO CHARACTER REQUESTS

Name: Should be pretty obvious.
Age: Physical age, you may also include mention of how old they "appear" to be if this is different than their actual age.
Gender: Only applies to races with more than one gender.
Race: See this topic.
Appearance: You may either provide a picture which best describes the appearance or you may make up your own description in text.
Alliance: If you are unsure or they belong to no alliance, simply say "None". For a full list of alliances, please check the pinned thread in Accepted Factions.
Personality: Refers to their inner-charisma and outer-charisma. How do they act? What motivates them?
Inventory: Make note of any items the character typically keeps on his/her person.
Combat Level: Add their magic level (see below) and Physical Strength (again, see below) together, then divide that number by two. If in doubt, just leave this part blank.

Magic Level
0 = basic peaceful mage or entertainer. Can create heat hot enough to cook foods (400deg f max), freeze foods, etc. Can create barriers tough enough to use as tables or ladders, multicolored lights.

1 = beginner battle mage. Can use basic offensive elemental spells, novice energy manipulation, steel-strength barriers. Spells strong enough to topple a building.

2 = Average military mage. Can read from and write to intermediate spell books, utilize common spells such as fireballs and lightening bolts, as well as simple rituals. Fireballs are enough to engulf heavy tanks, and hot enough to melt tank armor.

3 = Advanced mage. Can utilize self-teleportation, basic creature summoning and powerful elemental spells. Can begin to make their own spells on the spot.

4 = Very powerful advanced mage wielding mostly improvised spells, poses a threat to entire platoons of foes. If left unstopped, could destroy a moon.

5 = Exceedingly powerful magic user that poses a threat to entire armies. Can use extremely powerful spells and barriers that can defend against frigate-level gunfire. Almost always uses spells created on the spot. They can use planet-scale spells, up to spells comparable to increasing the wind speed planet wide to 100mph.

As for Level Sixes, you need majority staff approval, and an RP sample of 1000+ words, well written, the character must be very well written, and you MUST have a good IC reason.

Physical Strength
1: Weakling, in bad health.
2: Slightly weak.
3: Average, can lift about 200 pounds max.
4: Strong, can easily lift a lot of weight.
5: Can easily lift a car.
6: Insanely strong, can lift tons.

Character History: Everyone has a past. Sometimes it's exciting, sometimes it's quite dull, but we all have a past -- moments that got us to where we are. What's the past of your character?

RP Sample: Required for any character with a Combat Level of 4 or beyond. Must be at least 300 words and well written. Basically this is for more advanced characters. Just provide a sample of your writing skills -- something you've written.
