Secured mentally? Mind controlled? Or Secured against hostages? How would they keep the conventional Aralangs in line if they come and take the government by froce? Wouldn't that look like an act of war by the normal aralangs?

They're trying to TAKE the capitol, not destroy it. Capturing something is far harder than trying to destroy it.

Besides, you would be destroyed by the Zarethianss once they got a hold of you. They hate it when people destroy others planets. Or in this case, the capitals. They don't like killing innocents.

By securing I meant more along the lines of sitting down and talking with the Aralangs, making suggestions about how to help them gain control of their government, securing it from power struggle.

As for Hikaru's stance on things. She's a bit insane at the moment and basically kidnapped and took Leserlake hostage. Originally wanted to kill ALL the Aralangs not just the SF. But has no plan of action, and doesn't know what she's doing anymore. Again, insane.

Conventional Aralangs won't attack the others for attacking the SF in this case. Though, if they attack the conventional Aralangs, they would side with the SF.

Currently this is how the war appears to going to play out.

Archive, Noverians, Relorians, Grunder, Nova, Hiro's mercs, UP's impersomething, Koty/Family, Hikaru/Followers, K2, the remnants of imperial Japae, Rev Gen and the City, and the Anrufe VS SF Aralangs, although if things go bad the conventional Aralangs along with the Mechera, and Zatherians.

The wild cards as I see it would be the Lorcar, and the various unallied mercenaries and entities.
