Sub-Titan Class Ships
« on: September 08, 2010, 12:32:07 AM »
Seems like the best place to request these. Anyways, this is a request for Moon-Sized ships to be added into the classifications as Sub-Titans.

Sub-Titan:A class of ship around as big as the Earth's moon, literally. These fall in between Super-Capitals and Titans, and are obviously very massive ships. I cant say these to be the limitations, but my own suggestions concerning them is this:
-Only one Sub Titan per week(your still allowed your other four ships)
-A maximum of three Sub-Titans per faction(assuming they're capable of producing them)
-Each one must have a unique type requested for them(meaning each one would be unique).
Aaaand thats it that I can think of. Again, thats only suggestions, but still, I think thats fair.
Do you have what it takes to change your destiny, to defy FATE itself?

Zak Likes.

Non-staff, useless approve
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

* UnStellar would approve but is not the staff member to talk about when it comes to ships.

Only thing I have against it is that they each have to be unique. How come?
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

They're like Titans, basically. Titans are those extra-powered ships, the only difference is you can have more than one of these as a class ship, but you wouldn't have multiples of the same one. Its kinda like a Titan; I mean, from a IC perspective, you could ask why an Empire wouldn't just make a few of them if the have the ability to make the first. Sorta the same thing here.
But, like I said, those are just suggestions. If you wanna remove that, go ahead. I just thought it'd fit.

Eh... my titan is just an super-powered version of my super-capital ship's cannon, with five additional ones. I don't see why they have to be different.

I suppose. What do you think Gaser, Hikaru, Zumi?

I think so. It makes sense. A continent and a planet would leave a huge gap for something in between. Too much to be left behind. I dunno why I didn't see it before, but I think it's a good idea. Approved... if that's the right word.

I think I've found a problem... Super-capitals are already the size of the moon and greater. The surface area of the moon is 3.793 × 107 km2, or 37,930,000 km2. North America, the size of my Dreadnoughts has an area of 24,709,000 km2. But that's only when flattened. If we make it 3D, the surface area of my Dreadnought would be close to, if not greater than, the moon's surface area. We have bigger ships, like Orph's, which are the size of Asia, which is 44,579,000 km2 in area. There is another set of ships that is the size of Eurasia, which is the combination of Europe and Asia together, summing up to 54,759,000 km2. Asia and Eurasia are already bigger than the moon, even when flat.

My suggestion is to make sub-titans the size of Earth, and titans the size of gas giants and bigger. Here's the current class sizes.

Fighter: F-16
Corvette: White House
Frigate: Downtown LA
Capital: New York
Super-capital: Continent
Titan: Planet-sized
Megalith: Sun to Solar System

The newer edition should be:

Fighter: F-16.
Corvette: Between fighter and frigate.
Frigate: Downtown LA to LA county.
Sub-capital (does not need to be requested to be made): Between frigate and capital.
Capital: New York to Alaska
Super-capital: Larger than capital to Eurasia.
Sub-titan: Between Super-capital and titan.
Titan: Earth to Jupiter.
Super-titan: Between titan and megalith.
Megalith: Mercury's orbit and bigger.
