A desolated island : Such a Waste
« on: October 01, 2010, 05:54:32 PM »
Teleportation was not an easy task for those of the ancient power of prophetic and psalmic magic. However for once the spell did what it was supposed to, mystical lightning engulfing him and teleporting him to the carribean islands which had been desolated. Surveying his enviroment he let his tears come out of his eyes and hit the ground, his tears charged with magical energy to heal the planet some.

“This planet has no saviour.”  Those words were what he said as he looked around the island after using a scrying spell so he could see the entirety of the island. Coming to the conclusion that humanity needed help he would of course try to help humanity in his own way.

The person who was doing the talking was Jake Ateris. He was human but enhanced by the magic he knew. Namely prophetic and psalmic magic which he had gained. As one of the children of the prophets he was a very powerful prophetic and psalmic magic user to the point he was a master of both.

"We are the savior." Legion replied, quickly appearing in his ragged clothing and rather horrid appearance. His black veins bulging from his skin as the bright blue fire burned where his eyes should be, he was an abomination. But he was an abomination who had a goal in mind, particularly the resurrection of a Terran populace on Earth. "We do not appreciate unannounced magic." He informed, the words sounded forced as they left his mouth. It seemed that his body was still acclimating to having such a large amount of spirits rushing through it.

Earth had fallen so much since the last time he had been on this precious planet that was the home of humanity. Or rather the home of what was left of humanity anyway. All the damage had been done already to this planet and it was near irreversible unfortunately.

Yet could there be a small sliver of hope for this planet that had suffered so much as it is? Was there a slim chance for this planet to be healed and to recover from the tremendous damage? If there was Jake would seize the chance and try to mend the damage done.

“Who are you?” were the words Jake managed to choke out at long last after thinking of what must be done. Perhaps Earth had a protector, but it did not seem like this being was the protector of the planet.

"We are Legion. We protect this planet, till the ones who once lived here return." Legion introduced himself before walking right up the man's face. The air around him was charged with energy, and it was rather obvious that although the blood in his veins were black, it was still. He had no heartbeat, no warmth at all. He was only kept alive by the incredible power of the countless spirits and the powerful drive of Marakov, the original owner of the body.

"Welcome home, Terran." With that Legion smiled widely.

His home had been devastated. His family was likely still safe and hidden away and protected but still,  his home had been devastated and so he smiled at Legion in return, although it was a forced smile.  “Well Legion do you mind if I continue what I started namely healing this island and getting it ready for inhabitation once more?”  He would resume when allowed to so that one place at least on the planet would be pure and clean again.

This island would be the start of the work of Jake Ateris. Though he had been gone for so long he would make things right. No matter how long it would take him he would heal the planet Earth of it's problems and make the planet whole once more. No government should exist though that had nuclear capabilities, he would make sure there were no nuclear bombs on the planet Earth this time around.

"We will kill you if you try, the planet will heal itself overtime. If you wish to live here, you will live with the sorrow the Terrans created." Legion announced as he looked at Jake without blinking.

Now he knew what had happened truly. Earth would suffer and so would he for he must punish himself for his indifference. When the times got tough he should have given it his all in trying to heal the planet from Legion's grasp and simply fought Legion to the bitter end. He just had to be stupid though and get distracted allowing Legion to overcome his magic.

While there might be some animals and food that still existed on the planet earth Jake knew not where it was. So he merely said to Legion. “I shall reside here for a time.” He had brought rations with him enough for himself for a month if he rationed those meals and only ate 1 meal a day he would be able to last a month without having to use magic to create food.

"We'll be watching you."

With that Legion disappeared.

Forced by circumstances not to use his magical ability as long as he remained on the planet Earth, Jake realized that he could not even teleport or Legion would kill him. By even accelerating his speed slightly with magic he would be putting his life at risk unfortunately.

So the option to do everything by mundane means from now on or to die was the only two options that he had left for himself of course and so he took out his scythe from the pocket dimension he had kept it in. Walking over to a tree he used the scythe to fell the tree. Breaking off the branches of it he sharpened them with his scythe into a spear and he used some rope he found on the island to keep the spear normal.

Now he would do some fishing so that he would have some food other than what he brought with him. Fishing proved to be slow and tedious but eventually after about 2 hours, he had caught a single large trout. A fish dinner would always be a good thing.

As Jake broke off the branches of the tree, giggly girlish laughter could be heard in the air around it. Then as the tree fell, the laughter turned into a sorrow filled pouting. Finally able to take no more as Jake speared and completely decimated the poor fish, the felled tree grew lips out of bark, and stood on its cut roots. Branches grew from where the old ones once were, and the tree snuck up behind Jake and smacked him a good one across the face, causing leaves to fill his mouth.

"Do you always treat nature so... so.. cruel?" A girls voice echoed throughout the island.

Getting smacked by a tree was one thing. And yet having leaves in your mouth was quite another. Hearing a tree talk was a first for Jake and likely one of the most weird things he had ever done. As he spit out the leaves to the ground he said. “No, I don't treat nature this cruel but with Earth protected by an insane being with multiple magical signatures and well one that a lot of people have failed to defeat on Earth, food is scarce and so is dead wood.”

The tree crossed its arm- er... branches and shook its head of leaves. "And the poor fish? He probably had a family! A girlfriend! A whole life ahead of him! But you... you hunters with your spears and your arrogant attitudes. You care not for nature, and kill it as if its just playtime for you." Vines slowly began to break through the ground and creep around Jake's feet, winding up his legs, and twisting around his abdomen. Rooting him there to the spot. "Worry not poor misguided spirit," The tree went forward and hugged-, well branched Jake, squeezing him between two pieces of bark that strangely looked like the tree's breasts, well if a tree had some. "Mother Earth will love you and guide you back to the path of nature!"

When the tree moved closer to him and the vines tried to wrap around his legs, he jumped out of the way. Whatever it was going to try to do, he did not want it to do to him. Not being mauled by a tree was one plan of his every day of the week.

Obviously something had to be abnormal about this tree of course and so he would have to incinerate this tree, or cut it down. Racing towards his scythe he remembered something. There was one being who was allowed to use magic on this planet, and well he didn't know how to summon Legion unfortunately to kill this tree/person/voice.

“How to get rid of a moving, talking tree that is clearly not normal??”

Near his scythe he used magic to levitate it over to his hand so he could be ready to deal with this tree.

(last post void)

When the tree put it’s branches out towards him and vines began to wrap around his feet that was signifacant cause to freak out. Freak out was putting what happened mildly in terms that could be easily understood. Literally Jake propelled himself backwards with his magic to try and aviod the tree.  It was after all not a normal tree and a talking tree was far from normal indeed.

Yet what could this tree want that he had possibly and why was the tree launching a peace and love spiel? Determining that the tree was not a normal being, his resolve was not to let the tree put it’s branches around him period if he could avoid allowing it.

So he leapt for his scythe in hopes of using the scythe and a bit of psalmic or prophetic to make this tree be gone forever. Definitely not normal, the tree likely was magic or something. So what could he do about the tree and the pesky branches and the annoying speech?

Deciding that summoning Legion would be best at the moment, he launched a magical blast of energy in the form of a flare into the air. He hoped that would be enough to summon Legion. But to deal with the tree meant immediate action.

The only action he could think of was preventing the tree from even getting close to him. So holding out his hand, he made a wall of rock rise between himself and the tree. Using magic might get him in trouble, but he didn’t want to be hugged by a walking and or talking tree.
