Okay guys, here is Cadinae, my secret character. Not so much a secret character, but a secret part of Calto:

So yeah, the only real change I made was that instead of being a Sage he's a Templar. Given circumstance I think it made the story much more interesting, and finally gave me a chance to incorporate the Deathwalkers.
Also, considering that he is infact a Templar, I'd like Jeebus to approve of it. It doesn't mess up with his character Jay in the slightest, but still. It's his race.
And finally, don't forget to voice approval on the request at Calto's end of things.  Enjoy the reading.

Ex-Denutemp (Reverse contraction of the Latin words temporis (of time) and denuntiator (police officer), so he'd be a police officer dealing with time related crime)
 Personality:
He's a person who's perfect for police. He's serious, honest, and can keep calm in a variety of situations. He'd always been softspoken, but it was to the point that hard police work didn't appear to phase his personality. Because of this he's not often the center of attention, but he is not unhappy about it when he is. He's not exactly vain, but this center of attention feel is something he enjoys.

Cadinae is also a person who is (or I guess you'd say was) good with authority. He was raised a Templar, and they're not exactly people you'd be able to badmouth or insult without the slightest punishment. However, as he grew he started to stray away from by the book to what would work best for the situation. He didn't grow far in this situation, but it's still existent. It works out to a nice blend of the two.

Finally, Cadinae has a very large and wise intelligence. He's not to be underestimated in a game of mind. That's what usually gains him victory over his  prey. The criminals he pursues usually fall to cunning traps of displays of his, not his powers over the space time continuum.

Biography:
Cadinae was born on the station of Doneccastra, and all things considered, that he didn't have much of a childhood. His mother died early in his life, and he never met his father. He was literally born with nothing, nothing but the Templar order. As he grew up he trained constantly with his magical powers and manipulation of time. He had trouble bonding with other people, and didn't open up well or often.

By the time he was eighteen he was one of the most accomplished Templars of his age. He peaked in time manipulation, physical health/fitness, intellect, and general magic. Naturally, since he was accomplished in so many areas, he was selected for a job that required you to be accomplished in many areas. He became a Denutemp, an elite officer in the Templar police force. Their job was to protect time and the timeline itself from criminals that would hope to abuse it.

Cadinae had dozens of cases that he and his partner Amicus went on, and they became friends. Amicus was the first great friend Cadinae had ever had, but one day that all came to a halt when a rebelling Templar erased Amicus from reality.To make matters worse, when he looked into it, he discovered that both his parents had also been erased from reality, and that's why he had been an orphan all his life.
Needless to say, he was not pleased with this.

It was about that same time that Cadinae noticed a strange anomaly in the timeline, and decided to check it out. He was still mad at the Templar order, and went alone, leaving little to no trace. It wouldn't have mattered anyway. No Templar had ever gone back nearly as far as he was going anyway.

Next thing he knew he was imprisoned in the brig of the Deathwalker flagship, The Underworld. It had been a few hundred thousand years after they had been defeated, put through sterilization, and imprisoned in they're own ship. Of coarse, the sterilization process didn't work, but their leader Killringol was worried nonetheless. They couldn't return to the universe that had just defeated them. Their fleet had been demolished, and they had failed in conquest with that fleet. But suddenly what came upon them? A chance at a new universe came upon them. All they had to do was figure out from this Templar how to travel through time to this new unsuspecting universe.

Unfortunately for Killringol, Cadinae wouldn't comply with anything he offered. Cadinae was determined to keep these monsters from discovering the rest of the universe. One night he escaped the prison, but not without a fight. Before transporting himself back through time, he had a run in with Killringol. Killringol cursed Cadinae with a specietic spell of his own design. This was done out of anger, and Killringol instantly regretted it for obvious reason.

The effects of the curse were many. The first noticeable thing it did was distract Cadinae enough to alter his coarse through space and time. It put him on Velif eight years before present day rather than his office five minutes after he had left near the height of the Templar order. However, none of this was intended by Killringol.

What the curse was intended to do was change identity. The curse was designed to literally make a deathwalker turn into a human, or Templar, or any thing. As long as it was a race, like a specietic potion, the spell could convert you. This was no specietic potion though. In the potion after a week or so you may suddenly change back to your original race. Not so with the curse. You could change back if you wanted to, but you would have to know to and how to.

The curse also had another effect. Whoever's DNA was used would alter the being of the cursed individual into that person in almost every way. They would have the same DNA, magical ability, and even skill as the person. Only a few things stayed the same, and they were only a few trivial things like gender and general facial structure.

When becoming the new person, they would literally become the new person. The curse would give you the entire memory of the individual, and was also supposed to erase your own.

Now after all that I bet you're wondering who's DNA was in the magical blast. Believe it or not, the curse was empty of anything relating to anyone. Cadinae would stay the same, or so it would seem.

As Cadinae slowly got up, trembling from what he had been through immediately prior, he quickly realized he was in yet another very dangerous place. Inside a Heliphlien energy plant, Calto Rubian was having his torment fit, and it was killing him. No one could survive the power and lethality of having torment cover 99% of your emotion. It seemed Calto would be suddenly coming to a bitter end, but guess what happened? Calto and Cadinae came into contact. They touched each other. Suddenly the curse had DNA to work with, and Cadinae Rybic became Calto Rubian. Just as this happened, the last Templar "died," and Jay awoke from his slumber.

Now this may seem like a grim end to a great Templar, but it was nothing of the sort. The specietic potions that the Deathwalkers used commonly were designed to allow you to change back. The curse Killringol had given Cadinae had the same feature, just not automatic. If Calto ever realized his true identity, he could figure out how to change back into his former self.

It gets better. The time between the curse and the touch was roughly ten minutes for Cadinae. That was enough time for his body to start becoming accustomed to the curse, but not enough time to be used to it entirely. This essentially means, if he touches someone again, he could potentially turn into them. Essentially, the DNA thing could happen again, but his body over time is getting more used to the curse. at this point he will never be rid of it naturally, but the more used he is to it, the more control he will have. Also, by now he will have the ability to touch and not turn, and will never have to worry about loosing memory. Taking memory is still an option, but it's like changing DNA where he can do it not at all.

Now he's on a voyage to the stars, hoping to find purpose in his life. Little does he know how much he'll find! Killringol had intended to weaken Cadinae with a strong blow, but he had made Cadinae more powerful then ever by it.

Difference. Scrolls are a plot and don't have to be approved as they're already IC.

Character requests have to be approved. And if approved in secret by two staff members the rest of staff can't see it to determine if it was okay or not. What if one staff member missed something that the two staff who approved didn't see and let something extremely overpowered slip through? No offense to you K2, but you never really read approvals. You read the first line, mark it as approved and move on or skim the thing.

He shouldn't be able to make a secret character and approve it behind everyone.

If he wants to later bring it out in story then NPC it till that point and then request it when brought out like the rest of us dammit.

Hik, I agree that he should go ahead and post it, but only when he's FUCKING READY to. I personally dont think it matters if he shares it with a few staff members to see if its alright, and wants to edit it a bit before actually putting it on the board. If you've got any problems with it once its on the board proper, THEN you post about them. If you've got no problems, then there's no fucking problem, is there? He hasn't used the character IC, he wants it to remain unknown OOC, he did NOTHING fucking wrong. If he decides to wait a while before posting it out, then thats HIS choice. NOT yours.

Again... Why dont you just put up a rule tha... If someone wants to make a secret character they can pm a staffer and get it put in the staff forum so that ALL STAFF can view it and make sure it is acceptable.

Is my character never going to be a part of the plot? Is that alright for you to say? If your justification for the scrolls and such not needing approval is that they are a part of the plot then nothing should ever need approval because it all could be part of the plot.

And you at least could have PM'd me about it first. As is, you just ruined everything I worked so hard to keep secret.

Also, how do you know that K2 only reads the first few sentences? He had a few remarks in hi approvals that imply otherwise, but you didn't read that part did you?

Also, Hikaru, it's not all about you. Just because you were left out of something doesn't mean that the world of SP is going to end. That's what this breaks down to, and the scrolls prove it.

I'm saying you should have done like the rest of us when we want secret characters or not to reveal something yet. NPC it to the point of revelation. Then when it calls for it, post the request on the board after you've got to that point. Not PM it to two staff members and say "there it's approved,," you can use it now. Because if you do it THAT WAY, those staff members could have missed something the rest of staff may point out. Yes, characters only require two approvals, but the rest of staff can usually still read the request and call out something amiss.

By you doing it secret they cannot.

I'll give you that it doesn't give everything, but even so what you suggest would never suit what I would have done. If I had him suddenly change form on accident (which would definitely be a turning point) and suddenly everyone would be like, "You can't do that, you need to get it approved first." The other thing that could happen is another fish incident. To many things not worth the stress of fighting. I found a simple solution that benifited everyone, but you.

As far as missing something that could be godmodding, let me remind you that Orph has black hole ships that are powered by space debris and mini suns. You don't even need to request a ship that's only the size of a freaking city. This is nothing. Read the request yourself.

Not really, a level six is not far from a level five in terms of raw power. The whole grading scheme is kinda..outdated and not very well thought out either.

When they've trained for thousands of years or are embodiment level, or have something in their backstory backing up that power. But just because he absorbed from someone else? Orph was shot down with adding levels back when he requested Hound. Same thing would qualify there.
