The mourning ex monarch
« on: August 19, 2012, 03:54:48 PM »
Lucien appeared on Inarin in black robes similar to the outfit he had worn before but these were not meant for peaceful gatherings. No Lucien was not in a good mood at the moment as he had just heard of the death of over half the surviving Neo Narrikian population. It did not please him in the slightest and so he had the MWCA MK IV on one arm. A blaster one of the Ion pistols the Vionix used was belted at his waist. Lucien used the MWCA MK IV to calculate the location of the nearest life form and dashed over there using his enhancements. The enhancements had been done by one of the Vionix Doctors. "Why did the Anrufe have to send him? of all people they could have chosen do they have control of a Templar too?" Tears gushed out of his eyes at the carnage he had seen on the video all of them aged to dust in mere moments. The people likely had suffered. Shift was going to PAY dearly for this the moment Lucien was strong enough. Technology could be developed to counteract the abilities that Jay possessed. It was going to be developed now too. Lucien had no alternative but to commit himself fully to the cause. "Jay Stryder, one day...You'll pay." Unlike his normal robes these were pitch black a symbol of deep sorrow among any Narrikian culture. There was not a single hint of any other color on his outfit.  Lucien had a PDA in his hand.

"For what?" Jay appeared, holding a book and staring intently at it "Is it pizza? I'm pretty sure I didn't order a pizza."

"Not exactly. You single handedly according to records on this..." Lucien tossed him a PDA. "Murdered millions if not billions of Narrikians on the planet Providence. " Lucien was not in a joking mood and strode towards Jay an energy katana was in his hand. "Well, what do you have to say for yourself?" It seemed now he needed to stop playing around. While he did not possess the abilities the Templars did he could build technology that might enable him to do similar.  "Do you think the embodiment of time Asura will care if I made a device to disable time related abilities?"

"How else is someone who cannot stop whoever that was with an AM field supposed to even have a chance at surviving? BILLIONS were just slain by this fellow who seems to fight with dual swords and bares an odd resemblance in a way to you. I've been working in my head counter measures. None of them seem to be successful to deal with him. In other news, I've masterminded a plan to remove the dominance the Anrufe has over the galaxy. However we will need your help and that of the Templar Order to keep the time wielder they have out of the mess." Lucien pushed the button on the new MWCA that had been designed by the Vionix based off of his original designs but improved upon. Deactivating the energy weapon function he then used the computers to run a statistical probability. The chances of his victory were 10.5% with even the help of the Vionix, the Mechera and the Zarethian Empire without someone who could stop that time meddler in his tracks. "If you will not help directly then help indirectly. Make a weapon or armor or something immune to the powers of whoever that was so I have a fighting chance."

A ripple in time, like a stone tossed in the ocean.

Jay would likely feel it. Something -- or someone -- was coming. Was it bad? No. Was it good? Perhaps. But all in the same, someone was coming. Where had they been? Who knew. It was... Unimportant. What did matter was that, in this moment, it was... Obvious that somehow, things were about to get a whole lot... Different.

A blue-gold portal formed before the two...

Lucien face-palmed and then used the MWCA MK IV to display a holographic chart in front of Jay Stryder with the words Anrufe and a list of their current members. The ones that did not have chronal powers were crossed out. "See, I know you won't fight empires. But how do you feel about evening the playing field so the fight is a bit fairer? IE they don't have a chronomancer on their side of the battle either. There lies the main problem. Anything we do he could rewind, age us to dust or simply say we didn't come and it will be so. Chronal powers like yours need some way to be shut down by normal mortals and since I am one now and possess no capability but tech and my brain, I've been racking my brain for an answer to  said evil Templar." Lucien paused for a moment and pulled out a spare multi weapon construct apparatus and tossed it near Jay deciding on something. "If you don't wish to help save the lives of millions then so be it. If you change your mind you can use that to contact me. I have shorted out all other functions of that one and locked it so it can only be used to send a communication to mine." Lucien with that activated the wrist bracer teleporter device and once more disappeared this time off to fulfill other duties so he could say he had put in a good effort to handle the problem of the Anrufe Time Bender.

Nek Atlas was a man, by any standard. However; he had once been a frail and weak man. Under the guidance of Jay, he had become slightly stronger in physical strength, and obviously much stronger in other ways as well. Now, though, gliding easily through the portal, Nek returned to the home of his master -- after having been gone for a few months, plucked out of thin air -- and he was ripped.

Wielding a huge sword upon his back, Nek's eyes met his master's the moment he appeared. Nek seemed to be... Incredibly stronger, and not just physically. Radiating the presence of time itself, it was obvious his Templar powers had developed over the last few months. But where had he been?

"Sup," he greeted his master the moment he arrived.

"Jay. What happened to me?" he asked, a confidence in his voice despite the uncertainty of his question. Honestly he had no idea what had happened to him. Where had he been the last couple of months? What was going on? The last thing he remembered was... Well... A picnic with Inari.

Appearing out of the portal behind him, black creatures began to glide at them through the air. Quickly, almost as by reflex, Nek turned, quickly pulling his blade from the sheath on his back, and in one fluid motion, swinging right through the creatures, a silver glow surrounding them as they were cut through, their remains quickly flying back through the portal.

"What... the hell was that?" Nek asked, closing the portal. "And... How did I do that?"

"I really really... Don't even know" Jay examined Nek, the man had cleary changed but how? Jay had no idea, thus he summoned Nek's book to see if it'd shed light on the subject

The book's pages for the time that he'd been away would almost all be blank, except for one of the pages. That page had a huge, pulsing zero made of several colors which seemed to glow right off the pages... Nek glanced over Jay's shoulder at the book, curious.

"That's... New." Jay shrugged, the book disappearing "No memory of where you've been whatsoever?" The Elder turned his head to look at Nek "Any new superpowers? Grown an extra arm?"

"Dunno, up to you really. Inari's been takin' up yer duties while you've been gone so ya might wanna make it up to her. I'm sure theres at least one of her runnin' around" Jay laughed "Or if ya feel like trainin', we can go for that."

"No," he replied, confusion in his voice, "For a minute I thought I felt... Nevermind. It's impossible. Don't worry about it, man. Right, so, anything pressing that needs my attention? Rogue time traveling anomalies? Someone stuck in a time dialation field? Anything?"

"THERE IS ONE THING!"

A booming voice said that and a picture of Shift Stryder appeared near Nek all of the sudden. The voice appeared to come from nowhere but at the same time everywhere on the planet on once.

"REMOVE HIM FROM THE PLANE!"

Nek turned to face the image, a look of fear in his eye. It looked remarkably similar to Jay, only... No, this was too familiar. Images flashed through his head. He could swear he'd seen this figure before. Who was it? What had he done to provoke... Whoever this was before the two?

"Who the bloody hell is that?" he asked.

"Basically, i'm assumin' either a rogue Templar somehow or an insanely powerful mage. Whoever he is he's managed to hide his damn book in the Records. Straight up cant summon info on him." Jay sighed "I think, first things first would be to deal with folks who feel like they can order us around" The Elder indicated "Maybe get info on this guy. Doin' it the old fashioned way" He laughed "Listen, why dont ya freeze yerself a couple hours rest hm? Get yourself on-track then deal with your duties, you literally just fell outta a hole in time for cryin' out loud"
