"Yeah, I suppose you're right," Nek replied, "Right then, off I go. See ya in a bit?"

And then, pop. He was gone, off to wherever Templars go to sleep.

Nek had asked Jay if there had been another Templar, besides those three, on the planet. He'd been right to ask. Hidden in the tall grass nearby, Future!Nek (see the topic "The Dying Breed") and his friend -- or rather, student -- also a Templar -- had been watching. The thing was, Future!Nek didn't remember any of the conversation that had just occurred ever happening. It further confirmed his suspicions -- he and his student had to have simply hopped timelines or something... Right? Nothing a quick flick of the hand couldn't fix.

Future!Nek had changed his form, to make himself look just like his "present" form. He had his doubts that it could fool the Grand Elder... But he kept reminding himself of one simple fact -- Jay wasn't truly an elder yet. He'd just started to master his Templar abilities, right? He'd only been awake from his prison for, what, a decade?

Appearing from the tall grass, his student staying hidden behind, Future!Nek glanced at Jay. "Oh, one more thing?"

"Dude seriously, take a n-" Jay stopped mid sentence "Blammo, not my Nek." He laughed "Sync's completely off fer- Oh no way another Templar!" The guy seemed like a kid in a candy store, almost excited that at some point his Order would expand even further. Fortunately for Jay, his previous position in the Order involved a lot of dealing with different synchronizations with Time "What's up manjito?"

"Be careful, Maste- Um... I mean... Jay. You know as well as I do that knowing too much about your own timeline is dangerous. I should have known you'd see through me, though. It couldn't be avoided. We need your help. Something about this timeline is terribly wrong, and I think, for some reason, it's been affecting other realities as well," Future!Nek replied. He turned towards the tall grass that his student was hidden in. "Ayame, you can come out now."

From out of the tall grass, the young woman's eyes were wide as she admired Jay, suspended in disbelief as she observed him. Like he was some kind of legend. Like she was witnessing a once in a lifetime kind of thing. Which wasn't too far from the truth -- Generally, Templars were supposed to try and avoid interacting with Templars from other time streams and different points in time, right?

Future!Nek, unlike Ayame, had a dead serious look on his face. "Jay. Something in this timeline, and at this time, has been tampering with things, hasn't it? Tampering with time itself. And it's affecting everyone."

"Aw man do I just stop being fun at some point?" Jay laughed, hand behind his head "Got a point though yo." The Templar winked at Nek's student and snapped his fingers "But aye, the records are kinda uh... Ruined." He sighed "Whole books started goin' missing, The Lady's outright exhaustion was insane so I took up some a the burdens. Still, what's some crazy shit is some dude lookin' like me runnin' around with an almost blank book too. Time's basically goin' to shit around us and i'm barely managin' to hold it steady. Thinkin' I should visit the Lady again, see how well the Records gettin' back on track."

"How does that work?" Ayame quizzed, "If... Uh..." she stopped herself from revealing another spoiler. "...Lady.... Asura.... Is the embodiment of Time, is there one of her for every timeline, or does she hold the same form for all of time itself?"

"To my knowledge, she is time herself. There aren't separate versions of her. When... I mean, if... M'lady Asura were to pass away, her successor would be the same way... Or am I wrong, too?" he looked up at Jay. He'd never had to deal with more specific parts of time itself like this, even after years of being a Templar.

"It's hard to explain, really" Jay laughed "She's the only one that's ever been" He smiled at the two time travelers before him "Hold the goddamn phone." He almost stood at attention "The hell d'you mean when?"

"If," he replied quickly, "If. Yeah. So, I suppose a visit to Lady Asura is necessary. Maybe she knows what was happening to time now, and why it seems to have mysteriously stopped. Because something's very wrong about all of this. It's almost like... Like someone was deliberately attacking her without her knowledge. And it was messing up everything. All of existence."
