Deal with the Enemy's Dad
« on: December 12, 2012, 05:36:13 PM »
Jeff on behalf of Silas Night appeared, but not in his normal clothes. No this time he wore a black and silver martial artist Gi and had a file in his hands, a file displaying an exact genetic match between Nek and Kenny Zero. Well a partial genetic match, 50%. The match was Nek and Red Zero. Jeff attempted to summon  Nek so he could explain the file to him and get him to pull Kenny Zero out of the battle. Killing a child was not something Silas wished to do. But if need be he was going to pull off that move.

Appearing near Jeff was another copy of Nek, though this time, he had circles under his eyes, as if he had been working for hours -- as if he were tired. His eyes showed distance, and he seemed distracted. It was almost as if he didn't even see Jeff standing there with a file in his hands, ready to present it to Nek for whatever reason he might have. As Nek understood it, just a few hours ago, these guys had been threatening to unleash some great terror on the Templars -- what was their plan? Give them a paper cut with some files?

"How can I be of service today?" he asked, his words unusually insincere.

Jeff unceremoniously formed a barrier around the document in his hands and had it float over to Nek Atlas as proof of the action he was about to say. "Minister of War Silas Night has sent me on his behalf to extend to you Nek Atlas, father of Kenny Zero a rare chance to save your own son  from the battle that will soon happen. This document shows your genetic connection to the child. If you rescue him from the control of the Anrufe within the next 96 hours, all is well. If not, and Silas encounters him on the field of battle, the blood is on your hands. Silas also apologizes for the actions of Nicholas and promises not to send him to this world again. However the matter of your son." A contract appeared in  Jeff's hand. "Silas before he gives you the opportunity to save your son wants you to sign this agreement. The agreement clearly states you will keep any rogues of your number...from any interaction in the war whatsoever from this moment forward. It also has provisos that before your son's suspended sentence of death is lifted, he will be subjected to psychological reconditioning by the Narrikians in order to remove the control the Anrufe have over him. He will also have his memory of his mother and any lessons he learned from the Anrufe stored in a computerized file for later research."

"My... Son?" Nek replied, reading through the document. "Well, I'll be damned. Look, this rogue Templar guy you keep talking about. We have no control over him. I don't know how he formed -- and believe me, we're looking into this very closely -- but you can't expect us to take complete responsibility for something that we can't control."

Jeff paused and considered the words of Nek and tore up the original contract, forming a much different one that had the same provisos to the mental reconditioning of Kenny Zero.  Jeff then looked at Nek.  "This will get me in trouble with Silas, but I have lifted all but the conditions of subjecting your son completely to mental reconditioning and therapy should you rescue him before 96 hours pass. Should you fail and Silas encounter him, the blood of your son is upon your own hands and not that of Silas. This offer is only valid once. Silas would appreciate it if you did something to keep your rogue agent in some form of lock down until the war was over. The Anrufe are strong enough without time literally being on their side. Also Silas requests any books you can donate on the Templars, how their powers work, physics of time travel...etc. He has something in the works, but might need your help to complete it. "

"I can't give you info on our race. Look, thanks for the heads up, but I can't sign your contract. But I will try to find my... Son. Rescue him, if I can. Thank you again for the heads up," Nek replied, bowing slightly.

"You won't sign the contract which meant that once your son was rescued by either you or us, he is immediately subjected to psychological reconditioning by means of a piece of Aralang Tech we got operational recently. We will make him forget the training the Anrufe has given him and the fact he has any sort of powers. After that, we would give him to you.  Had you signed the contract, that is what would have happened. Now however the other arrangement is in effect, a shoot to kill policy on your son. I am sorry, but that is the way it must be."

Jeff was sad about issuing this...but knew it for the best.

Nek closed his eyes, breathing out slowly. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave now."

Jeff nodded and teleported away, the games had began.
