Aralang Technology
« on: April 05, 2013, 12:41:37 PM »
Okay. This thread is for Aralang technology that has been requested, but not yet approved.

Biological Augmentation: The ASF soldiers have become stronger and faster. They have been injected with a substance that amplifies their speed and strength. They can run up to 50 mph, and can lift 2.5 tons.

Well, unless their bodies are made to withstand these speeds and weights, their muscles and bones will be put under an extraordinarily large amount of pressure. I assume thats pretty much what you're doing but just so you know, its gonna require a lot.

Hmm...Not too overly powerful compared to a lot of the requests we get in this vein. This might be the first of them we actually approve. '>>
But uh yeah, approved, with the caveat Zak post'd. Im presuming they dont use their full strength or speed unless they need to, making it more of a 'adrenaline rush' or fight-or-flight type thing, but if thats not what ya meant jus' clarify and either way its fine by me.

Aralangs can withstand a lot more than humans. I was also implying that this augmentation makes it so that the ASF can withstand these extremes.

The ASF can run 50 mph for as long as they would be able to run in their previous maximum speed for. Meaning, that the time they can run full speed didn't change. So, since the ASF can run full speed in their previous speed for 5 minutes, they can run 50 mph for 5 minutes. Same thing with how much they can lift.

Crystal Ammunition: Aralang guns have crystal ammunition. The Aralangs can use one crystal for around a year, give or take, depending on how much they use it, before they have to reload. The crystals have AM properties, which makes the crystals, and the bullets produced by them, resistant to magic. The larger the caliber, the more resistance. If a mage gets shot by one of these bullets, the mage's magical abilities are weakened, depending on the caliber. The larger the caliber, the more weakened it is. If enough bullets are put into the mage, the mage loses all magical abilities. The bullets also have Saraton Energy properties, which makes the bullets more explosive and penetrative.

Combat Knives: These knives are made from the same material as the armor of the Aralang ships, making the knives very durable and able to cut through a lot of things that diamond cannot.

And if the bullets go through the mage or are extracted from them? What would happen to the dampening of the mage's abilities?

As for saraton, didn't the cannon have to be charged? Wouldn't that be a lot more energy then could be added to a bullet?

Well, these aren't metallic bullets. These bullets are actually the energized form of the crystal. They're lasers, pretty much, but I call them bullets, cuz they aren't beams, but pulses. If the bullet hits something, the bullet releases all of the AM energy. The AM energy lasts for several minutes.

There is a small amount of SE in the crystal, compared to the SE used on Aralang ships. The amount of Saraton is small enough so that it doesn't have to be charged, yet large enough to have a significant effect. The amount of energy would fit in the bullet. It's the crystal that has the properties, but it's the bullet that is created from a firing pin hitting the crystal, and the crystal reacting to it, causing energy to come out of it, which would be the bullet.

Well, I would advise calling it a blast or pulse in the future to avoid misunderstandings.

Approved, I guess.
