Don't know if this should go under Tech request, or if it counts as a magic...since it exists and is a type of energy. Either way, not putting an empire for it, as I haven't thought up a character for it yet, will do if it gets approved.
Negative Energy -
A form of exotic matter that exists at the brink of black holes, and one of the prerequisites necessary for Time Travel. (See Steven Hawking's articles for the part on time.) It is the opposite of regular matter/positive energy and exists alongside it, but can be seperated. As mass is only the result of Positive Energy, Negative energy doesn't gravitate or exert inertia as well. According to QM, as Positive energy pushes apart or explosive energy, Negative energy binds things together. Even though it can be found at the brink of Black Holes, it can also, in theory, destroy them. As an increase in charge of spin, or decrease in mass would destroy the horizon, attempts by ordinary fail, but a beam of Negative energy would do such; resulting in a Naked Singularity.
If accepted, I plan to use it as a energy type like magic alternative, not tech. But it's real, go look it up.
Naked Singularity -
Singularity without an event horizon (point of no return.) Therefore, it can be seen and possibly taken/controlled/used for things....
