Galactic Empires Is Open!

It's the moment many of you have been waiting for. After one year (exactly one year, give or take maybe a week), Galactic Empires is officially open. We've gone through a year of heavy reforms, and this board is evidence to such. I want to welcome you all, regardless of if you've been here before or if this is your first visit, to Galactic Empires. Please see this topic and others in this forum to get yourself a firm grasp on what we're all about.

Also, a note. You may see the words, "Season 4" throughout the board or wiki. That's our 'codename' of sorts to refer to the board as it is now. All of the past for those of you who have been here before still applies, by that I mean the plot is the same. Everything that happened, happened. This is not a new slate, and we're not "resetting" the game or its four year history. After all, it would take us four years to reset!

Regardless, we want the board to have a new feeling as well to welcome new members. Any empires, characters, etc that previously were in the game will have to be re-requested before being used. This is to put everyone on a leveled playing field and prevent past situations and problems with godmoding.

Also everyone, we are currently setting up a Wiki for the Galactic Empires universe! Once we have the initial articles finished, Emperors and major players can come to one of the Wiki team members to have articles added and/or amended. We will be checking articles for spelling, grammar, and continuity issues.

Also, the Staff organization has changed a great deal as well. We no longer will have admins or mods. Instead, the staff is broken up into teams, each with a leader. The Mod team's job is to take care of spammers, flamers, and other rule-breakers. Essentially, the Out Of Character board police. They can edit and delete posts, move and delete threads, warn, and suspend members. The Mod Team Leader can manage the mods, permaban members, and review warns.

The Storyline team is the team that organizes the plot and events, making sure to keep in line with the board's previous history as well as trying to include as much of the board as possible. The Storyline Team Leader can create new boards for plot reasons.

The Wiki team makes sure that everything on the Wiki fits the board, that no one is taking advantage of their editing privileges, and that the articles are clean of spelling and grammar errors. The Wiki Team Leaders are the ones who keep track of continuity issues between new articles and the original history of the RP.
