Tech for a new character o' mine
« on: May 07, 2010, 10:50:43 PM »
Just letting ya know beforehand, but the character this is for is gonna be a bounty hunter. Not a merc, a bounty hunter; he doesn't ally with factions, but instead merely accepts individual contracts, usually assassinations and the such.

Hunter's Helmet:
A custom-made bounty hunter's helmet/mask. Comes equipped with a gas-mask, x-ray, night vision, and a two-way radio/headset, to allow communications between him and his employers. It also can enhance and magnify the image at his command, enabling him to get a better look at further off targets. Its very durable, and the material can survive blasts from battle tanks of many factions, even non-earth ones. The wearer, well, maybe not so much, if the rest of the armor isn't made of the same stuff. The helmet has a generator independent of that of the main armor, being two different pieces of equipment that can be fitted together, allowing the wearer to still observe their surroundings even if the suit's power source should fail.

Hunter's Armor:
A full-body armor armoring made from the same durable compound that makes up the Hunter's Helmet. It also has a variety of technological enhancements, such as a device that can charge the left arm with electricity, a flamethrower on the other arm, mini-thrusters on his feet, and a miniature generator to power it all. The suit itself is actually quite heavy, but due to the internal workings, it is made to hold itself up; you could say it moves with its wearer to relieve the weight and power his close-combat strikes. Due to these workings, it DOES enhance its wearer's strength, and it is still heavy, which means that it can be used to smash through concrete, hulls, ect. When hooked up to the helmet, they can operate as a space/deep seasuit, but because of its sleek styling, it doesn't hold much air. Because of its weight, if its power source is cut off, it effectively traps its wearer within it, though, so it could be considered a double-edged sword.

Black Platinum: This is the name of the alloy used to produce these armors. Its a very strong metal compound, but its also extremely heavy; a small inch-diameter ball of the stuff weighs as much as a small car. Its hard to use it to produce stuff, but when it is used correctly, its extremely potent. Only dent-able at extreme temperatures, extremely resistant to fracturing, ect. Preffered material for the equipment of a certain bounty hunter...

There's a bit more, but Im running out of time on the computer. The rest is weapons anyways; this stuff is the main deal.

Well, the mechanisms that make the armor 'move' with the wearer are made of the same material, they are what moves the armor, allowing for more speed. I think. The only problem is if the power cuts off; then it all works against him, and he'd be unable to move. But with the power on, he'd still be able to move fairly fast...

...I've been putting this off for far too long...And since Im gonna use Blaze again, I'll need some weaponry for him.

Hammerspace Cyber-Storage Device:A small device that causes the target to literally be turned into computer code. Since Organic life is too complex to break into code safely, safety limiters are placed into the design that prevent living organisms from being 'cyber-ized'. Its main function is to transport otherwise large, bulky, heavy, or just a lot ofstuff that one cant just carry normally, then re-create the object in a way that makes it seem as though it had came out of nowhere, hence the product name,'Hammerspace'. The object that is 'cyber-ized' is basically held in the device as if it were any old program on a jump-drive. It is also activated by thought, and is installed into the armor, or whatever is worn. There is a proximity from where things can be 'cyber-ized' or brought out of the device; this is about anything ten feet away in any direction. As the object is merely turned into and out of code, with no tampering whatsoever, magical items retain their magic when exiting the storage device as well. There is a max storage to the device, though, and its specifically designed not to allow certain things like spacecraft in, after one of the designers went steal-happy and tried robbing his friends of their spaceships.

Black Laser:A laser rifle made of the extremely durable-and heavy-Black Platinum. Aside from the obvious fact that it fires lasers, it is able to switch from a beam to a spread mode-the beam is a single, accurate, stronger shot, while the spread is many, wide-spread, weaker shots. The first is a basic laser rifle shot, used to hit a single foe, while the second is a more complex laser shotgun blast, used as a crowd-control weapon. The lasers themselves are made up of black-light, attributing to its name(along with the material used to make it), seeing as the laser is very dark in color, ironically.

BP Minigun:Just that, a minigun made of Black Platinum. It fires solid-shell bullets also made of black platinum at a extremely high velocity, around four-thousand bullets a minute. As well, its bullets are usually made of Black Platinum, giving them a armor-piercing property. Its able to do this without risk of overheating-and at all, frankly-mainly due to the material comprising it, but also because of technological advancements. However, because of this, it costs billions upon trillions upon quadrillions of *insert currency here* to fire-for only a few seconds. So, unless he needs it(or just wants the chutzpah), he doesn't even go at half the max speed, and usually opts for 60 bullets a second. Still a lot, but not nearly as much as its potential. The recoil is very much, and even the armor Blaze wears isn't enough to dull it out, so unless he wants to be blown away, he entrenches himself in a position where he wont be.
