Here's my opinion on a truly successful staff setup:

An odd number of members. One is appointed Head Admin. This member's new role is as a sort of Speaker of the House. Makes sure EVERYONE can get their part said, keeps the peace amongst staff, etc. Beyond keeping the peace between staff members, this person has no more power than any of the other admins.

The others are admins and mods both. None of them should be so stubborn that they won't accept compromise. They should be able to work well with each other, and respect each other enough to consider their ideas. Most importantly, their primary care should be for the members. Not the board, not the story, the members. Without the members a board dies.

My grandmother had a heart attack caused by food in her lungs roughly two weeks ago. Two days ago, she had a stroke. I found out during work this morning that she passed away. She hadn't eaten for three days before going into the hospital, and she refused a feeding tube. She weighed 59 pounds.

...Okay. I have officially seen everything. You have had an idea that intrigues me. I can see many uses for C7 and G2, D6 not so much, unless you want to torture the user. Sandman could possibly be used as a medicinal compound, for example for Mecherans with a form of PTSD or something similar.  I see B4 being used much like pot here on earth. The only one I have a problem with is Bliss, and that's because you forgot to detail the actual effects, and that nicotine does take a bit longer than what 3 posts would represent for addiction. It would probably be more like, 5, maybe 6 posts.

IC Disputes / Re: OOC: Infection
« on: February 10, 2013, 08:14:48 PM »
Just curious, how would the Virus have become Subgrounded anyway?

11
Just because I think it could be more interesting, I think I will side with Swift.

The entire reason why parasitic/predatory/detrimental organisms still survive is because they evolve with their hosts/prey/victims. It's a constant war of attrition between the host and parasite. When the host finds a new way to prevent the parasite from doing it's thing, the parasite needs to find a way around it or die out. Those that do survive to continue on another few generations. That's why we get antibiotic-resistant bacteria. While all the arguments for why there are so few diseases and defects are valid, there is also the fact that bacteria/viruses/predators will always find ways to evolve past the safeguards placed against them, or die out. It is the cyclic nature of their evolution. They evolve against our efforts to stamp them out, stagnate for a bit while they reap the benefits of their victory, then we find new ways to deal with them and it starts over again.

IC Disputes / Re: OOC: Infection
« on: January 21, 2013, 04:25:40 PM »
The IC reason would be that the OV produces and uses so much energy, of a type that quite simply eclipses any currently used energy in the game, that even the Virus' current attempts would be like trying to use a chisel to take down a mountain.

EDIT: I'd like to add that I was never informed about the staff discussion, though I do agree.

Neirron sighs as they leave, looking around. "This place sure has changed since their father's rule. It's far, far more beautiful now. I wonder if that reflects on how they will rule as the second half of the Embodiment of Existence?" He muses, walking over to a tree to stroke one of its leaves. "Well, time to be off. Leirra will be worried by now..."

Christmas Eve is only a holiday starting at suppertime for us. We open one present after dinner, or after my sister gets out of work this year, and then we basically do our own thing. Tomorrow we go through stockings as soon as we wake up, after breakfast we do the actual presents. The cats get the wrapping paper. XD

Then there's Christmas Dinner around 2, desert around 5 or 6. That's about it.

Orion smirks as each Court Guardian fades into motes of light as the AME gets closer. He looks to the girl, offering his hand, which she takes. They both look back to the Virus, Orion gesturing to the lands around it. "I think it is time your door is closed for good." He calls out, the girl giggling as she reaches out for one side of the Rip, Orion reaching for the other, even as the AME hits them. "Hey Mister! I wanna slam the door in their faces!" The girl says, giggling still, making Orion laugh. "Well then..."

The final Court Guardian, who had stood silent, watching the entire battle, finally raises his hand to address his comrades, and the Virus. "Enough play." He says, his voice gravelly and strong, cutting through the din of battle. The Hunter stops firing his arrows, even as the Spirit Guides, the Lion, Gryphon, Snake and Bear, break apart into billions of tiny motes of light, converging on Orion's own bow. The Protector's shields grow larger and larger, quickly moving to cover the rip entirely as Love and Life put their hands on his shoulders. Blade, Hammer and Pike all salute Orion, before similarly disappearing into clouds of tiny fireflies. Orion stares through the rip, his arms held out wide as he watches the virus. "Come then, ye who seek to destroy all. Come, and ye shall see the true strength of that which you will never hold."

The sound of a child's laughter echoes through behind Orion's voice, originating from somewhere behind him, in a small area that suddenly seemed very, wrong, to any Virus bits inside it. As if to stay inside was to court cataclysm. "Spirit-mommy, can I come to play?"

Unfortunately for the Virus, the Relorian's Guardians were more than mere spells. After all, if they were, the events during the ASF's attack all those years ago would have caused it to fail and dissipate. Instead it had been left to mature, to bask in the unique energies of the Outerverse, as well as the residual magic from all the fights since. The Snake, Bear, Lion and Gryphon all emerge from the Gate yet again, having been sitting dormant in the Outerverse through the years. They are quite a bit different from the memories within the infected Aralians. Shining with an odd sort of half-physical shell, they quite literally charge right into the virus, untouchable by the virus, as if they weren't actually there.

The Four Generals, Sword, Pike, Hammer and Bow, immediately set upon the Virus, analyzing it even as they work with the Redwall to force the Virus out. The Knights take a much less, peaceful, approach. Orion stands behind them, overseeing it all as the Knights tear and slice at the Virus, their weapons feeding off the stored energy inside each foe. With each strike, they grow more and more powerful, stealing away more and more energy.

Behind the Gate, two silhouettes stand next to each other, too blurred to see even their gender as they watch the battle.

The Court Guardians stood tall before the virus, which when they came through the rip towards the Outerverse, seemed to only be moving back into the Aralian dimension. They watched the virus, each one ready to strike should the time come, save the Hunter. Raising his bow to the skies, he fires off one single arrow that disappeared into the skies, heralding the return of the Virus, and because of that, the Aralangs that were sure to come...

Agira / Re: Relorians, Tal, and many, many more.
    « on: December 08, 2012, 03:15:37 PM »
The Psiona spirits recognized the jamming, and inwardly smirked. As the tendrils touch their barriers, they rippled, tiny yet deadly psionic constructs being injected into it, infecting and reversing it so the barriers began releasing a poisonous wavelength, breaking up the Lorcar cells' exterior membranes, causing them to pop like bubbles. The jamming might be effective enough on those directly attacking through psi like the Lorcar, but for those using the more structured constructs, jamming would merely be like white noise ringing in their ears.

The rest of the tendrils start concentrating their attacks on the more psionically powerful Lorcar, striking the same point before them in the barrier, repeatedly, quickly breaking through to spear through them. These spirits were angered, Relorians banding together for the good of the many, despite their past transgressions, for their combined survival. And banding together was something the Caorrn did very, very well.

Meanwhile, lightyears away, on a distant planet covered in pudding, a small child holds her head in pain and goes to sit on her bed, legs crossed in a meditative state, the pained screams of billions of spirits echoing in her mind...
