Build Your Territories / MAGISTER REBOOT: Levian home-system
« on: May 14, 2013, 03:49:26 PM »
Territory Name: Val-thyne
Territory Description: The current capital of the Levian coalition; having abandoned their homeworld as their sun entered the red-giant phase of it's life-cycle. Val-thyne is a massive world with a magenta sky and a binary star system, and not to mention a technophile's wetdream. The Leviathyne Coalition crafted this naturally mountainous and forested world into pristine techno-oasis beautifully merged into the natural geography and without destroying the local ecosystems. Although any dangerous predators or pests have long been exterminated.
Galaxy: Andromeda
Ownership: The Leviathyne Coalition

Territory Name: Dagrua
Territory Description: Val-thyne's largest moon and the Coalition's military command center in their capital system. Although still a moon Dagrua is both planet sized and habitable. A melting pot of different climates and habitats Dagrua was once a perfect example of a life-sustaining world. The Coalition took it for everything it was worth, and turned it into a military world. Dagrua boasts massive halaex and anti-vessel cannons every fifty meters, and can be considered Val-thyne's shield and sword, and the home of their active and on-leave military personal.
Galaxy: Andromeda
Ownership: The Leviathyne Coalition

Build Your Faction / MAGISTER REBOOT: The Levian Coalition
« on: May 05, 2013, 01:23:57 PM »
Empire Name: Levian Coalition
Primary Race: Origus Leviathyne.
Government Description: The Levian Coalition is the sum of the thousands of individual "houses" within the Levian species. Each has it's own leader who is the wisest, most talented, or powerful. The declared Paragon of their house. Each Paragon is the voice of their house, which can number in the hundreds of thousands of individual Levians in matters that require their attention. There is however a ruling party; or 'First' house which resides over the entirety of the Coalition as the de-facto leader. They however are not all powerful within the government; more akin to the leading share holder in a company. They're a Senatorial Heroarchy with a residing 'head' Hero. The greatest of their race lead them, but hero doesn't technically mean "good."
Culture: The Levian's as a whole are raging techno-paths and there is absolutely no denying it. Their entire culture is based around their natural manipulation of energy and their own technological innovations. Most of their planets are giant tech-oasis's, yet they do have their own respect for nature. They attempt to intertwine living flora and fauna into their redesigned planets as best as they can. While not EVERY Levian has a boner for tech, it's an average trait in their species. They're arrogant, and they believe they have their own reasons to be. Most species they come into contact with are treated as lesser life forms, and if they get all uppity most Levian's have no problem blowing up a rude human merchant vessel..carrying children. Sentient life isn't inherently sacred to them, and only the most unique or advanced species are usually treated as equals..or even respected in any form. Most Levian's are born with a supreme passion for one thing, either pursuing the intellectual arts and creating new wonders, or defending the Coalition. Not limited to those two. Apathy is a VERY rare trait in the Levian species, and an Levian just sitting on it's ass is an even RARER thing..considering they don't need rest. Individual freedom is a major cornerstone of Levian culture, and even they wont enslave a race they consider lesser. They'd rather just blow it up if it get's annoying.
Additional Information: Really don't be shy making a Levian; I want some Leviathyne bros/sisters.

Build Your Race / MAGISTER REBOOT: Origus Leviathyne
« on: May 03, 2013, 05:10:45 PM »
Race Name: The Origus Leviathyne or more commonly referred to as a Levian.
Average physical appearance: An average Origus Leviathyne would appear to any untrained eye as vaguely human in appearance. While many non-Levian scholars and scientists would attribute this to some sort of unexplained phenomena. Any educated Leviathyne would explain this is do to organic cross-contamination of Levian DNA on an undeveloped Earth..it's a real embarrassment.
But despite their human-esque appearance a Levian can be easily distinguished from a human. This is due to a few major differences in this physiology.

Eye, hair, and the visible energy currents instead of veins.

That's right. A Levian is damn near identical to a human from their outward appearance; except for their eyes, hair, and what they would consider veins.

Their eyes are extremely different from a human beings. While still spherical and embedded in their head; they're comprised of a quasi-energy/matter substance. Their eyes can perceive the entire electromagnetic spectrum, and can visually identify magic energies. Physically they appear to be eyes made entirely of a swirling spherical vortex of energy. Many details vary between Levian. (Layman terms: They see in radiation, energy, and magical signatures.)

Their hair while it's placement is identical to a humans it's makeup and variety are incredibly different. Comprised of a semi-similar substance as their eyes a Levian's hair is another incredibly advanced sensory organ. They're extremely sensitive to the environment's heat, energy, and spatial changes. While color, length, and style all vary from Levian to Levian. Their hair always pulses with a low amount of energy; giving it a very minute amount of what appears to be electrical arcs..which again very in color and intensity.

And finally their "veins" which have been described as "little currents of different colored pure energy."

Abilities, Traits: The Origus Leviathyne are an extremely old, and very well evolved species. Having taken direct control over their physical evolution over three billions years ago during their "Age of Ascendance." Which was a period of technological enlightenment along with social and political reform that led to a golden period which has last for a long time. Immensely intelligent, and with enough natural physical prowess to back it up the Levian is a tough candidate if that was all they had packing. A natural ability that has existed since the early days of their species, and has been refined through primitive eugenics and finally modern science is their ability to absorb, convert, and manipulate energy. All of this takes place within large gland the size of a fist within their brain. Of course their brain isn't shaped like a humans, and even though it technically has less space to use..it's way more evolved.
This gland is commonly referred to as the "core." It's very similar to a heart, as it is the root of every current running through the Levian's body.

Typical Lifespan: Technically Levians don't die from old age. They're just beyond that; organic aging was a problem solved with the first billion years as a species. Basic DNA degradation over time. Child's play really.
Public or private?: Semi-public - Just ask me if you want to make one; gotta make sure it fits the template of a Levian and all that.
Other information: While it might seem abnormal..all Levian's share a distinct respect for their own laws and customs. As well as a distinct LACK of respect for any other sentient life-form who dares to exist at them.
PSSST: Totally not caused by thousands of years of eugenics and a nationalist attitude.

Here's my opinion on a truly successful staff setup:

An odd number of members. One is appointed Head Admin. This member's new role is as a sort of Speaker of the House. Makes sure EVERYONE can get their part said, keeps the peace amongst staff, etc. Beyond keeping the peace between staff members, this person has no more power than any of the other admins.

The others are admins and mods both. None of them should be so stubborn that they won't accept compromise. They should be able to work well with each other, and respect each other enough to consider their ideas. Most importantly, their primary care should be for the members. Not the board, not the story, the members. Without the members a board dies.
This.
While the story and board are major parts of the series..they don't matter if no one is posting. This has to be a place of fun, enjoyment, and creativity.

I have time; I'm unemployed, and even when employed I'm still addicted to the internet.

I still have ACP panel aptitude, enough for minor board maintenance. Been here for years.
Properly medicated and rather prone to rampant episodes of cleaning/updating/helping.
Only reason I ever lost admin powers was due to me choosing to leave after being unable to continue the story with the involvement of Taylor.
I'm also handsome.
And, completely for the people most of the time. But I'm not an overly democratic idiot. Some shit should be staff/founder business. For reasons.

Really roughly estimated mine.
Five trillion, seven-hundred billion.

Roleplaying / Re: Kota's estimated overall kill count topic!
« on: April 22, 2013, 04:27:16 PM »
Let me try to remember my total planet-killing count.
If you remember some, or call shenanigans..go ahead. I'm going off memory.

GE: I think I blew up around ten planets during the GE arc.
SP: Dude; personally I'm kinda at a loss here. I know it's way more then my GE count..but let me give it a go..I think in the total maybe late-teens early twenties from the SP arc?

Total: Estimated at around twenty-nine planet's killed in my time in the OK saga.

Roleplaying / Kota's estimated overall kill count topic!
« on: April 22, 2013, 04:21:40 PM »
Here I try to estimate my overall killcount..here I go.

Pre-IC lore: Lore related kill-count; mainly Koty and family. I'd say around five trillion. But this is..not really me who did it. Story did. So; not in total count.
GE estimate: 500 billion to 1 trillion. Rough estimate based on memories..been a long while. I'll round it to 700 billion.
SP estimate:: Here is where it get's interesting..I'd estimate around five trillion. I've been involved with damn near every major conflict, and have ended damn near a dozen races, and have destroyed more planets then I can even remember.

Total estimate: 5,700,000,000 - Give or take a few billion.
Five trillion, seven hundred billion NPCs murdered in my time as an active member of the OK saga.

Alright, make a topic and list of major acts of death caused, attempt to generalize some sort of summary of overall death count/genocidal stuffs. I'll be posting my response, K2 should too, and Hiro too with the Lorcar..I think he's done a good amount of murdering.

Throw my vote in for Zarethian for most developed culture.
Same as Blade's for weakest faction.
Current strongest faction - Mechera for sure.
Most likable member - Nisorin; this man has been the figurative kicking bucket of SP for years. Not because we hit him and abuse him on purpose..but he has taken control and been the level-headed voice of reason EVERY damn time, and in the process taken all our angry shit.
Talent - K2/Hikaru - A straight tie, and this is only cuz I feel wrong nominating myself. ;3

Suggested Category: Best Child Character (Rev and Gen [they count as 1 since they're inseparable >.> if not, Rev)
Suggested Category: Most Innocent/Naive Character (Treena!)
^ lol I just copy pasted Hik.

King of Genocide - Member with most NPC, and PC kills over all characters, and factions.
Nominee - Me, and I really want to see anyone disagree. I'm actually curious. Like I really think I've killed the most.

Planetkiller - Member with most destroyed planets over all characters, and factions.
Nominee - Me, or Gaserlake. It's a toss-up honestly. We'd have to discuss this.

I've always thought it worked like this.
If a concept or rule affects the entire bored; either IC or OC. It's usually put to a vote among ALL members.
If it's just the maintenance of the site, basic rules, and minor stuff it's staff problems.  Like involving true names went to a site vote, but making a new planet for no reason other then to add planets is staff business, and the staff has it's own staff sponsored lore events which are kept secret for obvious reasons. Remember; these are usually optional and totally cannot be considered the "main" story. They are only officially sanctioned plot events, and are usually canon due to staff acceptance of events.

Well i suppose practical leadership principles that are proven to work in every other situation with normal people, and which make logical sense dont work here. Maybe, just maybe.... Its the members. Food for thought, and i also do keep in mind that i am now apart of that group now.
Dude; look around you. Logical, normal, and those things are not quite well stocked around here.

Knowledge would technically control all "knowledge" in the SP/OK verse.
We are not apart of that verse; breaking the fourth wall is over extending his domain. Should be nulled.

After our adventure in the crypts Kota gave the party some time to rest and relax on their own. Deciding it was time for a solo-adventure! After wandering through the Reach Kota came upon a cave with a long trail of blood and gore leading up to it's black maw.
Of course he went in without a second thought; only to develop arachnophobia.

Trying to ignore the frightful eight legged abomination he encountered inside the mouth of the cave he forged ahead! Hearing heavy growling the sounds of claw against rock Kota ducked down and moved further into the cave. A large room was up ahead, and the smell of wet-fur filled his nostrils. He jumped down a ledge only for his foot to crunch loudly on a half chewed bone. Signaling for the cave's werebears to attack, but their claws and teeth were met by ebony and spellfire, and the warmage was the only one left standing barely..

Realizing the danger this cavern system contained Kota left, and came back not long later with Chilltits and Lydia. Cinder was too busy washing her hair or some shit.
As the party continued three hellhounds charged down the narrow hallway. Lydia took one down with a well placed arrow, and Kota went turned into a whirlwind of ebony as he unsheathed his secondary cutlass.

Sheathing his second cutlass Kota and his group continued further into the cave. Coming to a large room with ramps and obvious human presence. He saw a hunched figure eating in the corner. Thinking it must be some sentient humanoid he walked up to it without recklessly. Only for it to turn around and be THIS UGLY FUCKING THING KILL IT WITH FIRE!

After about five straight minutes of burning the body to ash, then the scorch mark Kota came to his sense and steeled himself. He felt as if they might be close to the end, and whatever foul power brought these evils here.
Once more he heard the sound of claw on stone, only to be followed by what sounded like some sort of bird like animal. It was approaching at a quick pace, and he waited with his companions at his side. Both cutlasses at the ready.

After slaying that corrupted raven the party headed forth..the air grew cold once more, and ice began to line the walls. A giant red figure stood in the distance, and the party halted as Kota brought out his dwemer scope. A device that bent and enhanced light allowing for men to see like hawks. Demonic in both nature and mindset; it was an Archdemon. The source of all these evil creatures. They must be under it's control!
