I'll be gone for a bit

I'm being dragged on a weekend trip lasting through Sunday. So don't be surprised if I fail to post even more than I usually do.

Back. The trip failed in every possible way.

Except I got some gundam models which I spent essentially the entire trip assembling while my family did pretty much everything known to man.

So you spent your vacation building Gundam models? Wasn't there anything else to do, like biking or something?
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Nope. It was essentially a road trip throughout the other parts of Kentucky. There was a convention at one part, which is where I got the models.

... Speaking of which, kinda makes me wish I did bring my bike.

Yeah, not much to do on a road trip.

...

Apparently, my family liked the last road trip sooo much, they decided to go on another one. I have no idea how long this one will last, considering they said they'd "try and go as far as possible until our money runs out."

I'm packed for five days. I have everything I can possible pack to keep me entertained. I'm stuffing my laptop with Steam games, ROMs, anime episodes, and I'm packing all my trading card decks and extra decks in case I find a person that plays anything, I'm bringing my drawing notebook, my "tabletop RP production" binder (It's a secret. >:{D ), my DS and all of it's games (Even when I have a flashcard that has a bunch of games. You can never be too sure.), my PSP with media go installed on my laptop so I can stuff all the downloadable games from the Playstation store on and off said device, all the chargers for every device I'm bringing, my Cellphone and IT'S charger (WAIT WHAT ZAI YOU'RE BRINGING YOUR CELL PHONE? BLASPHEMY!), books to entertain me, manga books to entertain me more, earplugs to drown out the endless country music my parents are obsessed with, sound canceling headphones for the same purpose except for when I want to listen to my own stuff, a GPS system in case my parents get lost coming back home, my brother's and mom's PSPs in case mine decides to stop working, My GBA SP so I can play my Advance games (Ruby, Emerald, and MegamanZero games), more books, DVDS to watch movies, [lies]my Death Note in case I can't take anymore of it[/lies], and if all else fails, my bike.

And there are no anime conventions near here to pick up another gundam model to construct.

If I get bored, I'll let you guys know when I get back.

What is your family trying to accomplish through road trips?

..It almost sounds like a scene out of the first Harry Potter novel. ...You sure you're not a wizard getting letters and your family's not trying to escape them?

I dunno. Either that or I'm really the son of an Olympian and they're trying to keep me away from the dark clutches of...

... No. I like the Harry Potter scenario much better.

Improbable.

Zai is far too magically inept to be a wizard, and too boring to be a demi-god.
The world is a mess..and I just need to..rule it.

Not back yet. 3-4 nights in (Depends on when you read this.) at a hotel with not-so-good-internetz. So now the ultimate question: Am I having fun?

The answer is YES.

Wait, what? Oh, you're looking for the other answer. Is the trip itself fun? No. Noooooo way. No x 10^2534.

So how am I keeping myself entertained? PSP. Turns out my DS decided to suicide in terms of battery power and I forgot the power cable. D}:
Yeah, well, I'm pretty stupid like that sometimes. And then turns out my brother did something awesome for once on the... I think second day. He got Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker on his account. And anything he gets on it, I get it too. So I pretty much spent most of my free time either A: Listening to my music to drown out the continuous pop/country/SIMPLE PLAN (Oh god. My mom picked up this interest. ... it's horrifying. It's like she completely skipped her teenage emo years and is just now getting to them. It's that bad.) or B: Play monster hunter/Peace Walker/SEGA genesis collection. Oh, and C: Play Magic the Gathering. I actually got my Dad interested long enough to play a couple games. Couldn't get him interested in Duel Masters, Yugioh (It's impossible to lose against me in this. My deck is literally put together with what shitty cards I still have.) Or pokemans.

And now the trip itself.

Beginning day, drove up north out of Kentucky and into Ohio. Saw some nice sights I guess. That was about it. Booked a hotel room and fell asleep in MINUTES.
Next day. Went to Amish country. My parents kept going on and on about how AMAZING the whole place was. Turned out they were as bored as I was. Still, it was nice to see some endless plains. Booked a hotel room, couldn't sleep until two hours before everyone woke up.
Day after, went up to see Lake Erie (A great lake, yes.). The thing is huge enough it may as well be an ocean. I'd say that was the highlight of the whole trip, considering it was something even I wanted to see. Booked a -fancy- hotel room since it was the only one open at the time. And here I am burning midnight oil.

Er, yeah. I'm going to sleep right after this post. Not even going to check the rest of the forum. Kinda feels like my legs could fall off or something. My mom keeps talking about going up even further to Canada, but my Father doesn't look like he has the patience to go all the way up there. ... And then she wanted to see a Simple Plan concert. I don't even think they play anywhere anymore.

Oh, by the way, turns out I'm a wizard and I'm enrolled in Hogwarts by a long lost dead wizard brother. However, the guy was so poor he couldn't pay for my fees, so I'm stuck being non magical. ;___;
