Water
« on: June 23, 2010, 09:07:01 AM »
Portals began to open all over the planet, the portals covered with barriers (one-way, things can go out but not in), releasing gallons and gallons per portal of water a second. The source of these portals seemed to be a pocket dimension full of thousands of gallons of water. Portals also appeared on the planet in less number to take in water once it was on the planet.. The planet's pudding was being ruined.

The pudding immediately underneath the waterfalls is quickly solidified through compression as the Relorians on the surface started creating their own portals underneath the falls, spraying the water back out into space a fair distance away from the planet. The Relorians who'd solidified the pudding started throwing spears made from high-temperature energy at the barriers, grouping up as many as fifteen per barrier in an attempt to destroy the barriers.

The Arcana Relorians there to study any effects the pudding may have on various magics paused their research to start tracing the magic used in the portals. What kind of magic created them, the actual spell wording, any commands that could possibly be used against the creators, etc.

((1 post for kind of magic, 3 for wordings, 6 for commands. Assuming the barriers last that long, of course.))
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

And with the barriers being attacked, it occurred. The water began to be released all at once as the portals and barriers combined to form a super-portal with a super-barrier. In no time, the planet Duppin was being drowned with water. In space, the water being sent out was sent back into a portal to a place where it was warmed before being sent back to the planet Duppin. Portals began to appear in space all around to absorb water being sent into space, and the water on Duppin began to be warmed by some extensive, remote spell so that it could get through pudding even as it hardened.

Unfortunately, as the pudding is hardened through compression rather than freezing, changing the water temperature wouldn't change how the pudding reacts to it. The Relorians combine their efforts, creating their own barrier-sphere around the attacking portal and barrier, trapping the water inside it. It quickly fills up, the barrier not even straining as the pressure rises.

The Arcana Relorians, having finished the first round of analysis, concluded the magic to resemble that which they've seen of the Anrufe. They immediately send a transmission to the nearby ships, having them start magically seeking out a member of the organization to meet with. Preferably the one they'd met with before.

And the water stopped as a sample of just a little bit of pudding was absorbed into a portal.
