The Cyborg Dragon vs Faote
« on: July 13, 2010, 03:36:02 PM »
"Damn it!"

The voice of K2323 (Or rather, C2323 as the Aralangs were now calling him, based on his new form as a cyborg) echoed throughout the tournament arena as his match was called with Faote. The cyborg hadn't even had time to find a way to return his body to normal. Now he had to fight? Oh well, he figured. Maybe the technology would give him an advantage.

Arriving on the fighting platform, C2 awaited Faote.

A portal rips open, as both Faote and Katherine stepped out, dressed in space pirate clothing, onto the arena to meet their foe. Knowing almost nothing of their opponent, Faote alchemized a scythe on the spot, and katherine solid concentrated steel claws.
I have a few new stuff up my sleeve... though will it be enough?

So.. You are my enemy?

K2323 took a step forward, analyzing his opponent. He had half-watched the last match this fellow had been in against Koty, and was surprised.. Koty had been defeated! That made this guy scary good. Like, the kind of scary that you were scared to be scared about good. Of course, K2323, being one of the Sage Three -- the legendary sibling sages who ruled the dimension for over a thousand years -- was not TOO scared.. Right?

As soon as the opponent said, "GO!" K2323 did not make a move. Instead, he merely introduced himself, bowing. "I am K2323 of the Sage Three, former leader of the K Empire, present-day Japae Empire, and a holder of a fourth Genesis power from the Genesis King."

A bit surprised at his opponent's lack of a preemptive strike, Faote almost had a portal all up and ready. "Uhm... I'm Faotemaru Veintarlach Derahnad. ... Yeah, that's about it." Faote replied.
"And I'm Katherine Derahnad. And before you ask, it is quite legal for me to participate along with my father." Katherine added on.

While Katherine was making her greetings, Faote began to set up moving, invisible portals all around the arena. Of course, they went nowhere in particular; there wasn't a input/output portal to link them all to. The only person that knew where each of them were was the creator of them all himself. I should probably set up a portal to that giant carbon splitter I have in that one space sector...

Giant spikes began to rise all over the arena.

isn't this interesting... Faote thought, starting to dislike the fact that he no longer had Katherine's wings on his back. Of course, this didn't stop him. A alchemy circle burned itself onto the ground and burned through most of the spikes that was in the way of the entire arena with a carbon splitter device on Faote's right arm. Then, Faote merely touched the circle with a finger, and the entire carving began to glow. Any more spikes that tried to appear within the circle faded away to dust due to the circle's power.
"You are now on God's territory. I cannot guarantee your life if you are within ten feet of it." Faote stated coldly, as Katherine stood right beside him. The God alchemic circle didn't take effect immediately, but it very well could soon.
Then, Faote opened a portal much higher above the arena, revealing the end barrel of a large cannon. Why hello there Align Cannon. Been a while since I used the thing.

Fire... Fire surrounded the circle on the ground and the portal in the air... This fire was blackfire, a fire which ordinary water could not put out. As the fire lit, K2323 lifted his form into the air, floating there for quite a bit as five strikes of lightning began to rain down towards Faote, all different colors.

Registering exactly what was happening at the current moment, the lightning immediately dissipated the moment it was within ten feet of the god circle, as any black fire that tried to enter the circle seemed to keep out as well.
"I am the god of this territory. What happens here is up to me." Faote stated as the align cannon began to charge up power. It seemed it would take a while before it could actually be put into any kind of use (ten of my posts actually.)

But there was much to do in this match. Faote held up his scythe, and through the powers of the god circle, it began spinning endlessly. Once it began spinning to speed almost unseen, Faote finally created a portal, and moved in half of the circular spinning scythe. That, of course, was a input portal. The many other portals that were floating around the arena began to appear as well, as halves of the spinning scythe appeared with all of them as well. Input portal, one. output portals, 30. Let's see if he can dodge every single one. Faote imagined that this would at least keep then cyborg at bay as the thirty spinning portal scythes zoomed all around the battlefield, threatening to cut anything in their path.

"While that's going... Katherine, mind setting up a holo god circle where the portal with the cannon is? I can't have him messing with the cannon." Faote asked his daughter, and was confirmed. With the use of more portals, Katherine was already setting up the holo god circle. The circle was complete as well, and within moments it activated into effect as well.

K2323 observed the scene in front of him, realizing first that he had to worry about the sharp object coming out of several portals over the arena. His attacks were useless the circles lined on the battlefield. There was also a killer cannon pointing in his face which he had to destroy. That gave him a lot to deal with.. And he suspected that he didn't have much time.

"You're crafty!" K2323 yelled out, "But so am I! It's time for an upgrade on one of my old attacks, then. Haven't used this one since.. Well, I guess it was back when my father was trying to kill me. Spirit Snake Form 30.. And a half!"

K2323, upon reciting the name of the spell, turned into... a snake. His snake form hardened and suddenly five beams of energy came from its hardened form, spreading into all directions, but outside of the God Circle. These beams froze in mid-air as if they were waiting for something. With K2323 gone, it seemed he was no longer in the arena, but he quite was. And barriers began surround the God Circles on the cannon and in the arena.

Faote gazed at the scene before him, and witnessed everything that was happening. He knew the location of his opponent thanks to the tier patch he brought with him. Though it wouldn't do much good considering none of his attacks would hit anyways. The barrier being around the cannon didn't concern him. Actually, no barriers concerned him. The only reason why he'd give his opponent more defense is probably because the barriers themselves will attack whoever inhabits them. The same goes for the cannon. ... Though I'm afraid this does nothing. Faote pondered, and grinned. Nothing a tri portal barrier won't fix.

Faote then made spherical portals inside and outside the forming barriers. Inside the barrier, the spherical portal faced outwards. Then, another portal was created outside of the barrier facing outwards. Anything that came from the barrier itself would spit itself right back outside of the barrier via portals. And if any incoming attacks came, it would either 1. hit the barrier and reflect back outside or 2. Break the barrier and still be spit back outside. This set up was applied for all existing barrier that his opponent placed. And of course, these portals extended underground too. Just in case.

"And as for those beams of energy... Kinda wish I could make these circles bigger, but then they'd exceed the arena limit and I'd be called out. I'll just have to settle for portaling them outside of the arena." Faote muttered, and created a few more moving portals. Their output portal was almost on the other end of the galaxy, and any form of energy that far wouldn't reach it's target anytime soon unless it moved faster than light. And even then, energy sustaining that long in the middle of space? It'd dissipate before they'd even make one third of their journey.

Before long, the portals began to chase after the five beams. Katherine and Faote believed they had a well thought out plan, but they were ready for anything. The only god circle capable of moving at the moment is the one Katherine is in control of, just because it's a holographic representation. So she's safe no matter what in case she has to move somewhere. Me, on the other hand... I might have to move up there pretty soon.

At that moment, portals of K2323's own appeared in-front of each portal in the arena, moving with the portals that moved, their output being any other portal. Thus, anything that came out of one of Faote's portals would only enter K2323's portals and output right in another portal of K2323's where it would, logically, move into one of Faote's portals. It was a loop. This also prevented the portals chasing after K2323's beams from doing much of anything, as K2323's portals blocked them from being able to effect his beams, and his portals were slightly larger in size than Faote's, and it meant that Faote's cannon blast would merely go into another of Faote's portals.

With the effects of the God Circle now justly negated for the moment, the first of the five beams, a red beam, began to make its way towards Faote. The ground under the beam lit on fire as it moved, and the heat of the arena began to rapidly increase.

Oh? And here I thought I was the only one that even made use of portals. Hell, even moving portals; it took me years to figure out how to make my portals simply move. Perhaps it's time I actually stopped participating in this race of cat and mouse. Faote came to the realization, as he noticed the god circle, for some reason, was negated. And it seems he's quite clever. I imagine that those beams of his are probably trying to come at me right now. If it comes to it though... I really don't want to resort to that. Faote kept pondering, eventually figuring out what to do. From what I can tell, Katherine's God circle is still functioning correctly, so she isn't in any real danger at the moment. But...

Within the few seconds Faote had, he came up with a plan of sorts. Seems I'll be making a holo god circle as well. Faote produced a holographic representation of the God circle behind him, floating there. "I'll just have to take it with me." He muttered, as he portal'd outside of the barrier and the main god circle he was at. I'm really going to hate this, but those other portals I made aren't all that useful now that my opponent has made his own. Within seconds, all of the portals Faote even bothered to produce disappeared. Of course, all those representations of spinning scythes scattered everywhere in pieces, ricocheting off anything in their path. Katherine, do you read me? Expand your God circle beyond the barrier and the opponent's portals and cease their existence with it.[/i]
Katherine got the message and did as she was told. The holo god circle expanded, and as the barrier and portals entered it, they ceased to exist.

Now that I'm out here with a god circle floating behind my back... I should probably be wary. That one beam he sent after me has to be around here somewhere. Until then... Katherine, I'm going to light up the place. Be prepared to negate my energy from your circle. Faote planned, as the very ground of the arena began to glow. It suddenly bursted into a glowing explosion of white energy! This may not affect him too much, but maybe it'll get him out of hiding. Disintegrating those other beams would be a nice bonus if I'm lucky enough...

The portals, at unbelievable speeds, flew forward to one spot between the four grouped beams and the explosion just as it began to occur, forming a portal wall a split second before it exploded. The blast and shockwave, upon meeting the portal, found itself being outputted through several minuscule, pin-sized portals surrounding Faote as a sealing circle appeared around the God Circle, starting to absorb it. Meanwhile, the red beam had, almost as if it had sentient, floated high in the arena to avoid being effected by the white explosion. It just stayed there, a cloud of smoke clearing from where it had been, its energy seeming to continue taking the shape of a red beam.

A sealing-circle also appeared on the ground God Circle and cannon God Circle, doing the same as its companion seal circle. K2323 still was oblivious to Katherine's spell-circle, wherever he was. A thick haze began to fill the arena at the same time. This haze had an almost blackish color to it... And anything that went into the haze found itself being converted into haze itself.

He can seal off the God circles? In that case, Katherine is definitely not safe. I could keep fighting, but... Katherine! Go and tell the judge we're forfeiting!
But father! I was just getting into this fighting thing!
Katherine, I brought you along to this tournament so you could get a feel on how massive battles like this unfold, not to get you killed. Why do you think I told you to keep within your God circle before we came here?
... yes father...

This wouldn't have been all that bad if our opponent was at least a skilled magic user... but this person is definitely way too soon for me to even begin fighting. And he doesn't even look like he even has his entire body! No, he is capable of far more than what I could even put up!

Faote created one last god circle behind the sealed God circle behind him, and dispelled it. Whatever else Faote had going on was also stopped, as he simply held up his hand as if in surrender. Katherine had already informed the judge by then.
... Father, will we ever be strong enough to fight that person?
No. Probably not.

... Wait, why did I even join this tournament in the first place?

"A forfeit has been declared!" a voice rumbled as the referee appeared on the arena floor. The portals and such all began to close. The haze quickly faded, as if being sent away, and the sealing circles became one with the ground of the arena. The beams all regrouped, merging together to form K2323, who had split himself into the form of the beams all along.

"You were a good match," K2323 commented, "Honestly, I'm a bit relieved that you surrendered.. I thought I was toast for a bit," K2323 said, sweat running down his profile. "I almost thought about revealing my true form and using my Genesis Magic, but I really didn't want to bother."

And suddenly, he was right next to Faote, his hand outstretched towards his former-enemy. "Good match."

"I'll have to say the same. A bit too good of a match. Though I have to admit, participating in this tournament wasn't my intention, but..." But before Faote could even finish what he was about to say, Katherine portal'd right next to him and slapped him.
"Dad! Why the hell did you forfeit us! We could have totally taken him on!" Katherine complained, as Faote regained his composure and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Katherine, we could very well have fought, but I couldn't guarantee that our victory would end in satisfaction." Faote muttered towards her, turning towards K2323. "But yes, sorry for that. Maybe next time when we aren't obligated to fight and... have more room. The arena ground was much too small for me." Faote added, elbowing Katherine as if pushing her to say something.
"... Good match." Katherine pouted, as if admitting it made her want to die or something. The only thing that could ruin this scene was probably the judge shouting out the next match or something.

Yes.. it wouldn't end in satisfaction. What I would have done next might have messed up my very right to existence...

But by the time the conversation was finished, K2323 had disappeared, off to rescue his sister from the evil clutches of the Aralangs.
