However the metal and weapons and tech formed into a large sphere which lit on fire and headed straight for the ship doing the scanning.

Lumek Veldor was watching from a viewing orb. He couldn't allow these weaklings to possess his technology and so he put one hand inside the orb from where he was namely the Veldorian Home Dimension. Concentrating he made all the tech and weapons and metal form into a large sphere and light up with fire and head right straight for the ship attempting to do the scan.
