On the subject of Alchemy
« on: July 21, 2010, 12:38:11 AM »
If a character is an alchemist or even uses alchemy, can it potentially heal planets, and create life? Do they go to hell if they use it? Even if they use it as a means to an end?
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

Healing planets = Uh, sure? I mean, as long as it usually follows the laws of equivalent exchange and all that. I don't see why it couldn't make a thousand or so plants and whatnot grow. Faote can use it like crazy because he has a philosopher's stone which supposedly bypasses the exchange law.

Going to hell = Yep. Don't ask me, ask the guys that made religion. It's occult for whatever reason.

Ok... well that seems kinda odd... I mean I guess it could be because whovever uses it is actually using ssomething other than God's power to create life.... But that hardly makes sense.... I mean magic can also do that. But then doesn't Alchemy fall into magic a s a category or sub-category.....? Hmmm....

Yeah, I don't get it either. But I think the whole 'going to hell' thing adds an extra dimension to a character's personality. Like do they care if they're going to hell after doing whatever? Or do they delve into the arts for the fun of it? Things like this make a character. ={/
