Werewolves
Werewolves are the result of someone being infected by the Lycanthrope virus. Basically one is, usually, infected with the virus by being bitten, however there are other ways to become infected. After being infected the host (for this instance a human) usually spends the next two weeks in bed, in extreme pain as the virus reshapes it's hosts DNA to suit it's purposes. After those two weeks the pain goes away and the human goes back to it's usual life, until the next full moon. As soon as the light of the moon touches their skin the virus starts shaping them into a huge wolf-like being as the virus takes over. This creature then (usually) goes on a rampage, killing and infecting indiscriminately, both feeding itself and spreading the virus. After several hours the virus recedes and the werewolf returns to human form. This is not the only way one can turn, as when the host is in extreme danger the virus transforms it but allows the host to not so much control as steer the beast to protect itself. But since the virus can't exactly see what's going on it has to relay on it's host pulse to decide whether to act, resulting in werewolves transforming when enraged as well as when in danger. While in werewolf form they can use powerful blood magic though being a creature of rage they can't focus enough to use anything more complex than simple elemental spells and some forms of teleportation. Werewolves remain largely unaffected by most conventional weapons usually healing instantly, the only way to kill one is by dealing more damage to it then it can heal at once. They do have a weakness to silver however, a slug of the stuff in a vital organ (the heart for instance) putting it into a sort of suspended animation.
