Race Alteration and Iroku's Shapeshifting
« on: August 06, 2010, 02:05:37 AM »
Ancient Relorians: A race who's physical shape is dictated by their spirits, the Ancient Relorians were a powerful race of mages that nearly died off over a millennium and a half prior to the Aralang arrival in the current universe. They traveled through many universes, acting mostly as observers and scholars before their betrayal. The Starclanners, who were then known as the Suvian, betrayed the Relorians in fantastic fashion, earning the brand Kuo. Their legs have two knees, as their arms have two elbows. The upper joint bends in the same direction as the human equivalent, while the second is a reverse-joint. Because of their unique leg structure, they can reach bipedal land speeds of up to 30 miles an hour, while if they holster their weapons and walk on all fours, they can reach upwards of 50 mph. They've no ears. Instead, they have scaled appendages looking like dreadlocks extending out the back from their scalps which are covered in adaptive hearing cells. Their skill in magic was great, the race bearing hundreds of powerful leaders using level 6 magic. Their magic, unlike modern Relorians, did not depend on the four spheres of Arcana, Diviae, Shamai, and Psiona.

The Suvian Betrayal happened well over ten millenia previous to the events of this board. The Suvian leaders were invited to join the Relorians in celebration of the Diviaen holy day, a day of peace, prayer, and introspection. The Suvian guests broke the Relorians' trust when they snuck in weapons and assassinated thousands of Relorians as they prayed. After a long history of peace, alliance, and even friendship between the two empires, the Suvian declared war, often resorting to dishonorable tactics to try and gain an edge. The war waged on for centuries, ever at a standstill until the Suvian created their first technological AM fields. The Relorians, a wholly magic empire, found themselves defenseless for quite the long time, before finally submitting to the necessity of survival. They reluctantly began work in studying technology, creating their own technological ships and AM jamming devices. With these new, albeit hated, inventions, the Relorians once again stood at a standstill against the Suvian for over a century longer, when both sides decided to halt their war, both ravaged by the attacks of the other.

Where there once was peace and joyful friendship, there now spread distrust and hate. Suvians were often the targets of aggravated assaults, even the occasional murder in revenge for loved ones fallen in the war. These feelings lingered even into the last days of the Ancient Relorian empire.

Iroku Using Koraiten's spirit energy and the gravity well of the partially-formed black hole over Lesh as fuel, with the hole's time dilation field used as a catalyst to speed the metamorphosis, Iroku has altered his body to return to that of his heritage. Bodily, he is now one of the Ancient Relorians. He is still tied to the Shamai sphere, and his magic level has not been altered, but he is now capable of spells he was previously unable to perform due to his body's structure.

There. Edited. Is it all well and good now, so I can get back to RPing?

Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Cool idea.
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

How did the Suvian betray them?

The Suvian, unlike the descendants (Radical Starclan) were meant to be a more... peaceful empire, they'd attack in war but not for no reason. Maybe the Ancient Relorians and Suvian were at war?

The comparison doesn't work. You said 100s were the equivalent to the Sage Three at the beginning of the RP. But that doesn't work, because the three of them weren't at equal strength, and never fight at full strength. Or at least my character doesn't. So there's no measure or limit saying what they are in comparison.... That's a hawkeye move, seriously. "Strong as so and so," "can beat so and so." ..... Explain the actual level of magic and power, don't just say they're as strong as a character you have no control over, and therefore doesn't work as a comparison...

You give me some other way to measure it that won't make it vague, and I'll change it. Until then, that's the only decently accurate comparison that I found.

Thanks. Like I said, help me find a better way of comparing it somewhat accurately, and I'll edit it.

I'm calling out the damn comparison, for the reasons I stated before. A different comparison? Compare to a different race or group! Could have just as easily said equal to the Anrufe or something. Can't compare to what you don't know the measure of the strength of.

Hik, he'd still need something to compare it to. If he doesn't have that, well, how does he measure it?
