His Father's Home
« on: August 08, 2010, 05:41:02 PM »
Zane was not the brightest man  but he knew that Elemora was not the home for him to be on. He could no longer remain on that world anyway, it held too many memories for him of his father.

As he slowly travessed through the house of his father Zane felt a mix of emotions rise up through him and water formed in his eyes. He missed his father but his father had died fighting Pedalo and would not want him to miss him.

It is best to live onto the future and to forget about the past and so Zane began loading up his father's belongings into briefcases as he walked through the house. Tensing up he opened a portal to a pocket dimension and tossed in the briefcases he had loaded so far.
He went to where his father kept his wardrobe next and found a small book about the size of a personal journal there but it was labeled.

“Elemental Techniques.” happened to be the label on the book and it intrigued Zane and so he kept the book with him as he walked through, loading all of his father's clothes into a pile. He would later burn them and this house down.

Once he was done sorting through the clothes he walked to where his father had kept his library and entered it seeing several cases in there. “What the?” He examined the room and it looked very old. In each case was a different weapon and he could feel the magical signature of those weapons from where he was standing.

“This calls for some investigation.” said Zane as he curiously walked over to one of the cases and saw a specially designed sword in one of them. Examining it closer he noticed his father's symbol on it along with numerous runes on it. What did those runes mean exactly?
He opened the book he carried and it gave no explanation to the runes. He scratched his head. What could these runes possibly mean?

http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=katana&order=9&offset=48#/d1683fu was what the blade happened to look like. Yet it seemed to radiate power specifically that of his father.
“Hmm. This is confusing.” It most certainly was, at least for him anyway to handle.

He gave up trying to figure out what the runes meant on the blade and pressed his hand to the stone panel on the case which caused the case to unlock and the blade to fall out near him.

He picked it up and attached it to his sword belt he wore now that he no longer needed the gauntlets.
This sword might come in handy for him later on and so he would make sure if it did or not.

“Now what?” He had examined the sword and it had taken him 20 minutes to thoroughly examine the blade which was in need of a good polish.

Memories that he had subconciously supressed suddenly hit him bringing him to the ground kneeling.

<<Flash Back>>
It was a stormy night and there was no moon, it too was eclipsed and it was totally night outside, complete darkness and an eerie fog had began to creep across Elemora, but it was not normal fog.

Justin slowly walked over to Zane in his room and grabbed him up out of bed dragging him to the library. “It is time you learned. No son of mine is going to be without the tools he needs should I die.”

When his father had finished dragging him they had arrived in a library of sorts that had several chests, cases and hundreds of books along with other artifacts including medallions and amulets and talismans. Potions were on some of the book shelfs, but behind diamond casing to prevent easy access to them.

“This is my secret treasury Zane. One day it will be yours but for now you must not be able to tell others about it and so I am sorry about this son.” He touched Zane lightly on the forehead painfully burning the memory out of Zane's mind and teleporting him back to his room. His father had known that if the secret was revealed Pedalo would kill his son and take this place and that was why his mind had been wiped of it until now. <<End Flash Back>>

Well now at least Zane remembered what this room was but his father had never told him about the artifacts and so it was his natural curiousity that won out in the end. Deciding that he would indeed explore this place more he went and read an inscription on a suit of armor.

“Tomeres Zaibol Serilos Suna.”  If he could translate it, he would have read, to my son I leave this protective armor in hopes that he will win against Pedalo. It was his grandfather's writing style however.

Another question sparked in Zane, namely how many generations of Valatakos had fought Pedalo. One of the things he was going to ask the elders about.

A case larger than the rest and made out of crystal contained the form of a man or at least what seemed to Zane to be a man. Why was this body trapped in crystal and not buried? Well that was something Zane himself needed to know.

He examined the runes which if he could translate would have read DONOT TOUCH. Curiously he put his hand out touching it and accidentally releasing a monster that his father had put away with the aid of the rest of the family before they had all died.

http://heise.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2c1ta1 was what the person looked like who had been released from the crystal and as the person, a dark elemental came to he noticed Zane and scowled.

In a strange language, the language of the elemental darks he called out upon his darkness to attack Zane and so a dark spear materialized which he willed to attack Zane.

A battle here in his own home? He should have kept his hands off of that crystal but yet, now that he thought about it well things were kind of funny. Using the sword that had been found earlier, he cut the spear.

The spear of darkness vanished when it had been cut. Zane had noticed something though, that the blade of the sword had lit with a platinum colored blaze the moment Zane had put his hand on the hilt and withdrew it from it's sheath.

Whoever this guy was, he was insane or trying to murder Zane and both options meant one conclusion had to be reached by Zane. This guy needed to go down hard and he needed to go down fast.

“Well then Mr.House Wrecker, I think it is time I showed you the door.” At that Zane gathered platinum colored flames in his hands having sheathed the sword and launched them at the man. “I think I will call this type of fire Salvation Fire.”

The fire had it's intended result only burning up the person that  had gotten out of the crystal and killing him the moment the fire touched him.

Panting heavily Zane sat down in a chair and decided he would rest somewhat before he explored any more of this room and further, he would get the Elders to help him when he explored the rest of it. Recovering slowly he thought that possibly he did not need the elders to help him explore his father's own home.

Finally recovering from the exhaustion of the short lived fight that had taken place Zane vowed not to make that mistake again. First he would look at the books, likely the most harmless things availible.

He picked up a book that read inversion and duplex theory.
Beware for those who read this book must be immune to being scared by things of evil. Turn back now if you are weak hearted and not brave.

This was what the first page said to Zane as he read it. Well he was certainly brave, he had faced down two embodiments and won, well two half embodiments anyway. He closed the book anyway, and used a fire spell to incinerate the book into nothing but ashes.
“Time to read something else.” He kept searching until he found his father's diary. Yes his father kept a diary.

Battle Log : Pedalo continues to grow in strength despite the efforts of myself and my men. I fear that if he is not stopped, soon  Elmora could be consumed by his own darkness and he will become ruler of us all. The date said about 300 years ago. Just how long ago had his father fought Pedalo? He closed the book, this time putting it in the pocket dimension with the suitcases.

“This simply will not do. I can't translate all of these books, and most of these symbols. I am going to need some help if I hope to translate them at all. Time to pay a visit to the Aralangs.” He had heard from his friends before they had stopped communicating with him about the Aralangs, and had gotten the coordinates of Aralia.

He held out his hand opening a portal colored platinum. Before he left though he wove 20 different wards that would consume anyone who tried to enter the house until he returned to the inside of the house.

Walking through the portal he decided he would get some help translating all of the books, symbols and other things that he had just discovered.

Returning brought memories to his mind of what his father had made him do when he was only 10 years old. His father had sent him off world to study and become stronger. The training had been brutal but Zane had learned how to fight and how to kill.

This time though the return was not so good as he had learned the Aralang stuff could not translate his data that he needed translated which meant an even bigger problem for him.

Perhaps the Divine Elder could render some assistance hopefully in this matter which had been bugging Zane. So Zane held out his fist and made it glow with platinum colored energy again and tried to summon the Divine Elder to him.

"I need your help Divine Elder." He said after he made the wards fade. "There are a lot of relics here that belonged to my dad, but I don't know the language on them."

A simple letter popped into the air nearby him, asking,"Why would I know?" They binding on it had a old Divine symbol, the one which has the meaning of their god. Very different than those other symbols.
