Alright. We've mentioned this a few times before, how having magic would deplete the lifespan of a Novierian. Let's figure this out together. There are currently three theories that explain this.
1. They're aliens. They work totally different.

-This theory totally sucks.
2. Their mind is their life battery, but they lack a soul. They have to create a pseudo soul within their mind, but some of their spirit energy has to go into the upkeep of it.

-Solves a lot of things, and allows for better character development.
Cons
-Magic = supports spirit to live longer/forever. Wtf?
3. Same as above theory, only they aren't creating magic, but something close enough it might as well be, but doesn't support the spirit.

In case you forgot, Novierians are an ESP race, so they rely on it completely. No magic whatsoever. Their minds are a 400 year battery that can be used on pretty much everything, and I previously mentioned that delving into magic beyond level 1 would shorten this lifespan. "But Zai! Using ESP like crazy would deplete that silly battery of yours!"
Wrong. I'll go with the first theory here. They're aliens, they work totally different. Think of their mind like a human body. You can do a lot to it to shorten it's life (cancer, cigarettes, you get it.), but doing an activity like, say, moving your arm will do nothing. Like moving said arm, a Novierian's ESP is the same way.
Do Novierians have a spirit? Yes. However, this can be disproved considering that they were mentioned as the 'race without an afterlife,' but it's unlikely considering what this RP already has set in stone.
Do Novierians have a soul? No. They have no magic, therefore, they have no soul.
How do Novierians reproduce? Don't ask. Even I don't know. That's for a topic another day that's NOT in Grimoire.
