If it's original to another persons work and has only been used there, it's a rip.

There's a difference between calling your character Mario or Zelda, from a videogame. Those are regular names, names people use commonly.
But you wouldn't go and name your character Voldemort.

Hik, C'thulhu has been used in other places other than the original work, perhaps you've heard of C'thulhu tech? But if you still find it a "rip" then how's this: You come up with a name that sounds good and fits charactar then I'll happily change it. And, as Zak has said, Dakka is meant as an homage not a rip. Besides, I didn't come here to be harassed by people wanting everything to be original, I came here because I like rping and my friends are here.

EDIT: Oh and another thing, why are you being so uptight about this but not the God or Lucifer charecters, I mean in Hik's own words:

I mean, it's not that i don't understand where you guys are coming from, it's just that C'thulhu isn't a rip. At all. I mean the first iteration (theres a ten cent word for ya) was a rip, but then I completly changed it and kept only the appearance and name. Surley you can see why it's not a rip?

Rip Off on the other hand is completely fictional from a fictional work.

Hikaru, you cannot say that the Bible is not fictional. You can't. It is a history of stuff but a lot of it is religious bias. I'm not saying the Bible is wrong. But it is at least a bit fictional.
And his name is C'thulu, yes, but he is a completely different character. Just like you Koty and Eli, and whoever else it is, like Lyoko's Mark Tepper.
