We do have a multitude of staff. The solution is not to cut down on staff. Our current staff team is very efficient, much more so than the old set-up, and the new additions were needed. Badly. I suggest instead that we get more members for the staff to preside over.
Also, Orph is on a great more deal than when you think, and of course its only when its convenient for him -- I think its the same with us all. We have lives off of SP. We try to get on every day, but we can't always do such. I have a shitton of exam testing and what not next week and for the remainder of this week. Am I going to get on every day? Hell no. Why not? It's not convenient for me.
I'll get on when I'm not studying or doing other things like hanging out with my friends, but considering I'll be spending more time studying and testing, SP is what I'm taking time out of. Because it's most convenient. We have six other staff members. The same applies with Orph at times and all of us -- We have lives and may be going through periods in our life where it's not possible for us to get on every day (while maintaining our health, anyway. :O) and so we don't.
Also, Hawk, all the staff members (me being a possible exception if there must be one) do 'staff'. It's just we don't always approve YOUR stuff. Here's the best way for you to go about changing that, and I highly recommend you follow these steps when approving stuff:
Cut down on the requests.
We're busy people. We have lives and in addition to those lives we have other requests to check and addition to those other requests, we kinda want to RP. I shouldn't open the Character form and see every other topic created by the same person. Having a creative flux is fine, but if you're going to request something, make it worth our time... That brings me to my next step.
Make things interesting.
Ask in your topics for staff input if you must. Make sure your requests and topics are interesting. If they're not, there are actually people here willing to work with you to make the content you produce entertaining. This doesn't mean they want to read your long character profiles and modify them... It means they want to make you a better writer. If you can't find anyone to help you, make a topic on the forum in General or O.R.P.H. (which nobody checks anymore) asking for help.
DON'T BUG THE STAFF, PLEASE.****!!!!!
Don't worry. We'll get to your topic eventually. It's not possible to approve stuff if every hour or two we get a message from someone asking for approval of stuff. In fact, there are only two instances when it is appropriate to contact a staff member about approval (contacting them about anything else is fine, though try not to limit your conversations to the roleplay) via any means other than the pinned topic regarding things needing approval:
- The topic has been ignored for a period of more than thirty days.
- A nudge every... two days regarding approval is fine as well. One mention. Not all-day-of-asking for the request to be made.
Edit: For that matter, all the staff -- myself included -- can sometimes abuse ship requests due to the process of making ships. I haven't actually seen Hikaru really approve ships.
