The Relorian Empire, or Reloria, is an empire formed as a result of a coup against the Starclan, as well as an empire which existed long ago. The two empires were essentially one in the same, as the modern-day Reloria is ultimately the result of the thought extinct Reloria's surviving refugees. As of the end of season three, it was unknown if Reloria has collapsed or not, but they have, at the very least, suffered a great downfall.
Over the course of the ten years between seasons three and four, Reloria has made a near complete recovery. However, three years prior to the beginning of Season Four, they discovered a rogue transmission that none of the other empires seemed to intercept. The signal was quite unique, with Nisorin Lertis recognizing the cryptology almost instantly. There was a functioning Ancient Relorian automated outpost somewhere between their current universe and a neighboring one. The Relorian civilization quickly set themselves to developing a method for them to travel between universes, and ultimately, to the space between the universes. They finally accomplished their goal, to their satisfaction anyway, one year before season four's beginning, and promptly seal away their territories, making them invisible and unlandable on by other empires. With that, they leave for the outpost, which very well could be the most important archeological find for them since the first time Nisorin found a Relorian outpost, before the Sons of Plunder had been formed.
Since their migration from this dimensional plane, Relorian culture has begun to return to its origins. Arcana clothing has changed from what is essentially today's fashion, to studded and embroidered, loose fitting shirts and slacks for men, while the women wear similarly decorated robes. Their armor ranges anywhere from scale mail hauberks to full body plate mail.
The Shamai have grown even closer to the land, and will only wear garments made from animal skins or woven from local grasses or plant stems. Their armors have a much larger range, consisting of anything from freshly tanned leathers to heavy, ornately-carved bone plate mail over crystalline scale hauberks.
Diviae clothing consists of formal coats, similar in shape to that of a pirate captain's, as well as shirts and pants similar to Vatican priests. They often adorn themselves and their clothing with religious symbols and runes. Their armor consists almost entirely of heavier suits made of a silvery metal, anything from double-plated brigandines to full engraved plate mail.
Their magic and aesthetical physiology is broken up into three distinct spheres: Arcana, Diviae, and Shamai.
Arcana
Arcana Relorians often have darker or more extreme hair colors, while eye colors can vary. They are also taller and more slender than the other two spheres. Their magic resembles that of the more common magic one would see in the universe, consisting of elemental spells as well as energy manipulation and telekinesis, as well as general barriers, wards, teleportation, and illusions. Arcana is often the most flashy of the three spheres, often used in decorating for festivals and other celebrations.
Diviae
Diviae magics are often mistaken as priestly, clerical, or paladin magics. While those are yes a part of the Diviae sphere, it also includes darker magics such as necromancy, blood seals and corruptive energies. Unlike those magics it is commonly mistaken for, it does not require the favor of a divinity, or even faith in a god or god-like entity. Diviae is the Relorian magic most often seen used in hospitals and other medical institutions, with normal soldiers taught the basics of healing Diviae magic before they are allowed on the battlefield.
Shamai
Shamai magics are those regarding the land and her spirits. From geomancy, plant and wind magics, to curses, hexes, and other such 'darker' magics. Shamai mages live their lives in near constant contact with nature, seeking to preserve it down to the natural path of evolution. To elaborate, they won't try to stop a species from becoming extinct unless there is an unnatural force acting against it. They also work in close collaboration with spirits. The dead who have not passed on into the next life, and instead stay in the plane of the living. They make pacts with these spirits, allowing them to live inside the mage's body and feed off the emanations from their spellcasting. This pact allows the mage to use the spirit's abilities as well, including their proficiency for certain Shamai magics.
