I'll try the class
« on: September 20, 2010, 06:50:20 PM »
Um... I'll try this.... I don't know my skill and my experience with fighting here is pretty much null....
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

I'll sub for K2 and Orph until one of them signs back on. So, where, in regards to roleplay combat, do you think your strengths and weaknesses lie? And don't limit yourself to SP. The O.R.P.H. may use SP as a setting, but it's not specifically for improving your skill on this board.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

I really don't know. I have little to no experience in actual combat. So... yeah.

Going off that little bit, what would you think?

Well, in specifics towards SP, magic. Seeing as there are so many types. But other than that, I have no idea.

Alright. How about a fight between mages then? Use who you want, make someone new if you wish, you can choose the setting. Personally, I like to use Deviantart pics for OOC fights.

Um.... ok.... in this..?

I'll do a fun one. Or a sort of fun one.
(I'll try to find a pick like this)
Charles appeared out of a blue/black porta onto a flat asteroid about the size of half a football field. Around him there were smaller and larger asteroids floating around in the depths of space. A bright yellow star made its home in the background.

Good, now I'm going to bring in some non-magic technological foes. You shouldn't just know how to fight another mage, you need to know how to fight every single type of enemy, or at least be able to adapt quickly.

What Charles didn't know is that he had just portaled into a very top-secret area, where it was shoot first, shoot again, and THEN ask questions. At least five fighter class vessels swiftly zeroed on his position an opened fire, their make seemed to be that of a generic weapons company, although they were known for their dangerous firepower. They seemed to be having some trouble maneuvering in the confined space of the asteroid field, but they were being piloted by trained soldiers, and they could manage. Opening fire with a small barrage of basic energy projectiles the fighters seemed intent on making Charles swiss cheese.
The world is a mess..and I just need to..rule it.

Charles teleported onto an asteroid near one of the fighters with a flash of his cloak. He warped the fighter's wings and crumpled one and pushed it into another at 300mph, exploding both of them in a ball of energy. The third one he warped the energy emissions from the engine into a energy ball and knocked it into the other fighters, destroying them with the energy ball.

Hows that?
