Smith/Mercer Technology
« on: September 29, 2010, 02:37:09 PM »
Tech: Seeing as how the Smiths update thier weaponry after every little skirmish or fight there are many variations of these weapons that are specific to a region of Ferrari, however these are the standards.

.357 pistol: An average Smith Pistol, capabable of tearing through most targets like shit through a goose. It looks like your avaerage Magnum except huge.

DW23: A Smith caliber Sub-Machine Gun capable of firing 50 shots per second on full auto. It is retro fitted with a PD ammo clip that holds 340 rounds.
Looks more or less like this:

Javelin: A variation of the DW23 but fitted with a chainsaw bayonet and has faster rate of fire.

Shoggoths/Shoggoth Power Armor: An extremly advanced peice of equipment, it is normally warn by Ra' Kath's elite guard, The Shoggoths (hence the name). It enhances the wearers strength twelve fold and is nearly indestructible, being capable of surviving a nuclear blast. They were made using the Smith's know how with metal and is made of the deseased bodies of dead Mercers that have been condensed into this super durable armor. In the back of the armor is a Mercer life force that powersa large motor, that in turn powers several smaller motors located throughout the armor. However being extremly expensive to make there are only four of them in the universe. It's wearer must go through many years of training before they are even allowed to look at it and several more before they can wear it. Then they are put through surgery to be given an extra heart, and another lung that is capable of filtering all sorts of toxins from the air they are breathing, and a skin implant that allows them to interface directly with the suit.
Appearnce: It looks like Space Marine power armor and MJOLNIR Mark VI power armor had love child that then had a kid with Isaac Clark's RIG. They are adorned woth the Mark of the Ferrarian Empire (the an octopus with wings inside of a large cog) upon their shoulders.

Trebble Shotgun: A shotgun developed by the Mercers long before they came to Ferrari. It fires smith caliber slugs that are amplified by Electro-magnetic Ion waves that increase the speed of the slugs and gives them an EMP like effect when they come into contact with anything that uses electricity. It can blast a hole clear through a M1 Abrahms tank so just use you imagintaion for what it does to people. Essentially it'ds there anti-tank weapon used only by the largest of their kind (fifteen feet and over) It's used exclusivly by Mercers seeing as only they can power it.

Approved, but limit the number of Shoggoth armors.

Im a bit iffy about the nuclear blast thingy myself, but you said there were only seven in the universe, and were expensive to produce...My main concern about that is the fact that it would have to be extremely super condensed for it to feasibly work. Is there anything in place that would even allow the wearer to carry it?

Approved, except for trebble shotgun and the power armor. A shotgun that can tear through a tank? I doubt EM augmentation would be able to help it tear a hole through a tank. For the power armor, a nuclear explosion? How does it survive that?

It's basically an anti tank rifle in shotgun form that is held in a Mercers arm via PD.

For the power armor, a nuclear explosion? How does it survive that?

Yeah I should expand upon that.

EDIT: Okay I've fixed them...I think.

...Is it even possible to get 50 rounds a second from any weapon?
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

50 rounds a second seems a little over powered... and would require vast amounts of coolent and ammo to keep it going.
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

Gatling guns and such have it at a couple hundred.
And I could just have it so that they have some coolant in there.....of course then again the metal they use might be very heat resistant......I'll go with that.

I have a gun that fast on the board...Its one of Blaze's techs. I mean, sure, its a superpowered minigun made out of a material strong and heavy enough to punch through ship armor when used in a armor, but...

EDIT:Meant to say faster than that.

What keeps it from surviving a nuclear blast?

And... an anti-tank rifle in a shotgun? That's a bit overpowered, I would think. It would require a lot of coolant, and it should be around... a three-time shot before having to reload again.

Nisorin, yes, it's possible. The minigun does just that. It can even do 100 rounds per second, and this is achieved IRL. And... I've found one flaw with the sub-machine gun, which I'll revoke my approval for: the recoil. Seeing as the rate of fire is around the same as the minigun, it's safe to say that it has around the same recoil as the minigun, which is about several hundred pounds of force, I believe. Taking into account that the sub-machine gun would be lighter than the minigun, that thing would be flying.

Gaser, Mercers are...10 Feet tall, I think it was?robots and Smiths are a lifeform with a hide so tough it takes very high-caliber rounds to pierce the skin. The Mercers should be able to wield that, and I think so would the Smiths. I'll wait for Orga to confirm about the details, but yeah. They're supposed to be very strong and stuff.

The average Mercer is 12' tall and the tallest of them are 15' tall and they have the mass and strength to use these weapons, while those using the Trebble Shotgun would have to hold to still and would probably have made modifications to themselves that would enable them to fire these weapons, i.e. clamps on their feet that would dig into the ground for better footing etc etc...
