Technomancy
« on: October 05, 2010, 01:51:16 AM »
Name: Janice Gloom
Age: 19
Race: Arcana Relorian(used with Nisorin's permission)
Alliance: Plunder
Biography: Janice has always loved technology, unlike many mages, and had a very good memory. Whether it was computers, clockwork, anything, she'd always try and analyze and tinker with it. As she grew up, she started using magic to help her out, and she began to read mechanical manuals and the such at a young age, while also reading on computer booklets.
She, like many other Relorians, lived upon the New Dragon moon at one point during her life. And, like many Relorians, she was there when the Archive made their imbecilic attack. She also got away, managing to get into one of the escape pods. Now, you'd think that this experience would make her despise technology, seeing as thats what was used against their world. But no, not her...She loved her mechanical marvels too much for that. The Archive, though...She certainly holds a grudge against them. While they did make amends with Lesh, she still didn't entirely trust them, but she wanted to live on a planet instead of a ship, so she took the chance. While a ship was a machine...She just wasn't ready. Even if she wanted to, she was still a bit young by then. Old enough to understand that the Archive killed her home, but young enough that it left a imprint upon her, and that she couldn't really stay around on the ship alone. She lived upon Lesh for a long time since then, honing her knowledge and mastery of both technology and magic. She even invented a few small objects, though they never got much fame if any. They were useful objects, sure, but even so, she never really tried to market them. As she lived there and continued her studies, her magical ability grew, allowing her to not only manipulate and form technology from base materials, she began actually thinking up designs and ideas in her head...Then using magic to directly craft them, her almost arcane knowledge of technology allowing her to put the pieces together all at once from nothing, and eventually she was able to use her magic to actually control them, instead of using normal methods.
And then...Plunder came back. She hadn't known much about them, but she realized they were a powerful group...And then they contacted her, asking her to join. She jumped at the offer, using her encyclopedic knowledge of mechanical workings and cyberspacial management to greatly benefit them when they needed it. It wasn't the easiest job ever, but by now she was able to survive on a ship better than when she was younger, and was fascinated by every aspect of the base. She spent most of her time researching the technology used and honing her talents, always ready for if she's needed by the Sons of Plunder. Still, she distrusts the Archive...And what this might entail for her in her choice of life, is unknown...
Weapons: Whatever she can produce at the time with her magic.
Equipment: Whatever she can produce at the time with her magic.
Magic Level: 4, but she's specialized it. Her magic mostly works best when used to help create or manipulate technological marvels, but is limitted at other things.

Just without the wings(at least, all the time, though I guess she could conjure those up).

If Nisorin says no to any of that, well, Relorians and Plunder are his, so I can redo it.

Do you have what it takes to change your destiny, to defy FATE itself?
Let us test the limits of your abilities, and see if you have the WILL to do what no one else tries.

Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.
