In case you haven't figured it out yet, Monster Hunter is a game series where you hunt giant monsters. I mean GIANT, DANGEROUS, FUCKING AWESOME monsters that will RIP YOU TO SHREDS IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL. And to do this, they will make use of anything in their arsenal to make sure you go down and stay down. Or in their stomach. Or their kids' stomachs. It could go any way, really. If you still have trouble exactly figuring out what all this means...

So here's how the RP works. We all start in Yukumo village (No one wanted to do the village in the trees idea. ; ~ ; ) as Hunter Rank 0 (HR0 for short; absolutely no training/not even a hunter yet) OR HR1 (has had training, can take in basic missions.), and we all gradually work ourselves up in the monster hunt to the higher ranks. That's how it is in every Monster Hunter game, let's follow that in the RP.
What's different? This will deal with the monsters themselves: You can RP as the monsters... and you can have them as mounts. Yes, you heard me right. MOUNTS. AS IN RIDING THEM. MAKE THAT MONSTER THAT SPITED YOU IN AN EARLIER GAME YOUR STEED TO PUNISH IT FOR BEING SO HARD. I know which one I'll be riding.
But wait, what good is fighting gigantic monsters of awesomeness without a tool of utter destruction? There's a lot of good examples at the Monster Hunter Wiki right here:

Crossblade- A cross between a Crossbow and a short sword. The weapon is meant to be agile, and can weave in and out of tight situations very easily. But when the going gets tough, the tough gets a fucking blade stabbed right in it's face with a chain to retract it. That's right: you can fire the blade to stab distant objects, and immediately reel the sword or the entire killed/injured animal/monster with it! In fact, the Crossblade is even said to be strong enough to reel up the person wielding it, making it a great tool for climbing. The one drawback is that when the crossblade reels in your blade of firey destruction (Or Icey destruction. Or shocking. I dunno, you tell me. You're the one that adds elemental stuff to your weapons.), you're quite vulnerable for attack.
Knucklers- Forget the idea of those brass knuckles. Those are long gone. What I'm talking about are massive cylinder gloves that eat up your entire forearm, with blades, blunt steel ends, and sometimes even fire or ice at the end of them! Who needs weapons when you have your own fists?! Knucklers are very close range, but they have something a lot of other weapons don't; speed. You're dealing massive amounts of damage with every punch, every combo, every time you slam their head with your fists of fury. Just, uh, keep this in mind; get the fuck outta there when that thing starts to rage.

Jinouga, the lighting beast of the forest. And for over a year, the village has been terrorized by the wolf, having many close calls in the past.

the village has been reaching out for help to various villages, hunters, and even the hunters guild. Will you become a hunter? Or will you continue the onslaught that Jinouga has set before you?
