You are in a dark, humid cave, as soft winds brush behind you from the entrance. You are an adventurer along with your party, and you have been assigned to explore this cave and reap all of its treasures and secrets.
But before you go in, you decide to do a little roll call. You ask your party members to state their names and their class. For whatever reason this matter is of the utmost importance, and you absolutely have to know who is what before you even take another step in this infernal cave.
(Say your adventurer name and pick a class. Can be any that's DnD like. If it's not in DnD, just make it sound like it is.)

This topic is more or less a comedic journey through a cave DnD style. The sole purpose of this topic is for members to just come in and make a funny post through some of the common gags of role playing games like DnD or JRPGs and such. But overall, if there is a rule to be followed, it's to have fun. There is no limit on god modding (Just don't derail the topic please.), and I won't get after you for making stupid decisions (Those are actually encouraged; they're funny, and that's what this topic is intended for.). Something to mention; CHARACTERS WILL NEVER DIE UNLESS THE PERSON THAT MADE THAT CHARACTER EXPRESSES THEIR PERMISSION TO KILL HIM/HER OR IF THEY DO IT THEMSELVES.
I will serve as this RP's "DM." For those that don't know what that means, it's short for "Dungeon Master." A Dungeon Master is the guy that runs a DnD game and it's story, and decides what the party faces in combat, or where they go in terms of location, and even performs dice rolls for stuff other than characters, like for the enemies. It sounds complicated, but the sort of DMing I will do is just advancing the party through the cave and being responsible for actions of enemies (However, feel free to take over control of an enemy or object at any time. I'll even let people DM for me if I'm gone somewhere or if they want a shot at it.).
So how do you join? It's simple beyond belief. Give a name to your character, and give them a class. It doesn't have to be a DnD class, but it is preferred. You don't need to be approved or wait for anyone to insert you into the story or anything. Just start posting! The main excuse is that you were with the party the whole time but didn't do anything up till then.
Of course, you don't have to be in the party if you don't want to. Feel free to make side character roles, like a mini boss or a recurring villian or a random townsperson or a dog. If you make a character, feel free to put him as any role you want.
Let's also go over system changes. A system change is more or less a change in how the topic does it's RPG/DnD themes. For example, in DnD, whenever you attack an enemy, you roll a dice to see if your attack hits, and again to see if you score a critical hit. We won't ever get anymore complicated than that unless the need arises to make something even funnier. In JRPGs, attacks aren't dependant on dice rolls, but instead on stats (Not important. Feel free to make mention of them however you want for any reason.) and battles take on a turn based system (You take a turn doing something, the next guy takes a turn doing something, an enemy does something, etc.). The main point is, from time to time in the RP, we'll be switching inbetween these systems for a more fun experience.
A list of the current systems;
Dungeons and Dragons
Everything is dependent on rolls and modifiers, and how you've built your character up until that point. The party has limited inventory space and must suffer through the common yet funny cliches of how a simple dice roll can screw you over, or how the failure to inspect a trap can mean life or near death. This system will be used most of the time.
JRPG (Japanese Role Playing Game)
Stats, endless level grinding, over the top skills, flashy battle animations, constant unexplained misses, elemental weaknesses (or lack thereof!), and even the all too common random battle rule here! If you've played Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears/saga, or maybe even Fire Emblem, you get the general idea of what this is.
Action Adventure
Normal roleplaying here. You could crack a joke about when you get low health, you get this annoying sound that plays forever until you get more health, or maybe how the enemy's range of insta kill is so fucking huge while you can barely reach him, yet you completely ignore the fact that you have a guard function. But overall, this system is what we're mostly accustomed to.
TCG
I'm still working on how this'll work and still keep the topic not too serious. But for now, just think Yugioh Abridged Series and their gags on the card game itself.
If you don't understand, DON'T WORRY. You'll get a feel for it soon enough. And if not, I'll help you. But for now, all you have to do to join in... is just click that post button.
