From Magic Land to Tech Space
« on: November 11, 2010, 06:21:58 AM »
A portal opened, and Gaserlake walked through, carrying C2 and Hikaru, who were both unconscious. The portal closed behind him. He was in one of those huge portal devices. The three were beamed to a military hospital. C2 and Hikaru were in bed, in their separate rooms, while Gaserlake was outside. The two were being checked on by doctors.

They found out that Hikaru is infected with something. The same with C2. Doctors tried to figure out what they were infected with while they tried to isolate the infection.

The infection inside Hikaru, on one hand, had almost entirely been killed off by her phoenix reincarnation. Only a small strand of it did hold on. That small strand had wrapped itself in the blind spot of her phoenix heritage -- the place it couldn't touch. Her Revelation Magic. Now, it set forth back into her body, multiplying like cells. The infection set off towards her Phoenix abilities once more. This time, it was going to confuse her own body.

It would make the Phoenix Abilities attack itself until Hikaru was no longer a phoenix.

In C2323's body, the infection was going after his nanites. It was trying to consume them.

The Aralangs made the two rooms free of the IAM field in hope that it would help improve C2's and Hikaru's defenses. They also injected eating nanties into the bodies, set to destroy the infection but cause no harm to the bodies.

The infection wrapped itself around the Aralang nanites (having already destroyed much of C2323's nanites implanted by Jikore) and began to redirect them towards attacking the bodies of C2323 and Hikaru.

Wrapping around the nanites made their job easier at cutting down the infection down to the molecular level. The nanites were extremely tiny, so it would take some effort in controlling them. The nanites also knew what was friend and what was foe, so they immediately corrected themselves and continued tearing down the infection.

But whenever the infection was broken down, those broken down particles just multiplied exponentially. The nanites were making more of the infection. The infection was adapting to the nanites. It was learning what they were, how they acted. That made controlling them easier.

Gaserlake walked into the room. "What's going on?" he asked.

"We don't know," one of the doctors nervously said. "We can't stop the infection."

Gaserlake sighed. "Is it that bad?"

The doctors nodded with despair.

"Alright, then. Looks like I have no choice but to give her Elite Energy,"

The doctors looked at each other, confused. "But that's a rare energy, and-"

"Bullshit!" Gaserlake interrupted. The doctors said nothing. After all, he was the one who invented Elite Energy, so he has the biggest say-so on it. "She needs to stay unconscious, though. She would definitely not like this." The medical team nodded. "Alright. I'll be making Elite Energy while you try to slow down the damn infection. I'll be damned if she's a goner." He got a small tube, and scraped some of Hikaru's skin into it. He went to C2's room and did the same. He needed the DNA from both. He was then beamed to a lab, while the doctors injected something that deceased the blood flow rate, which resulted in the slowed spread of the infection. The other set of doctors did the same to C2.

Meanwhile, Gaserlake was working on creating Elite Energy. It was a complex process, but he did it in a matter of minutes. There was plenty of Elite Energy for both Hikaru and C2. They were compatible with whatever DNA was used to create it, so one was compatible with Hikaru, and the other C2. How did he do it so fast? He kept this process secret from everyone, including Leserlake.

He was beamed into Hikaru's room. He then injected Hikaru with her Elite Energy. The Elite Energy found its host, and spread throughout the body, spirit, and soul. It immediately combated the infection. It was an easy fight for the Elite Energy, as it is adaptive to the infection. That plus Hikaru's Phoenix blood would surely equal victory.

He went to C2 and injected Elite Energy into him. The same thing happened to C2 and his Elite Energy. The Elite Energy and C2's nanites would make a team to fight off the infection, and rather easily, too.

At least, this would have been so for any normal infection. However; this was a small fraction of the power of Plex. And even though that fraction was small, it was enough. The infection was strong. It could adapt too. That meant that the Elite Energy and the infection were adapting to each other, constantly trying to beat the other. Their bodies would be trying to fight off the infection, sure, but it'd be a standstill. The infection and the body would remain equal.

The virus began to wrap itself around Hikaru's phoenix powers and C2323's nanites once more, using them. It was making them fight off the Elite Energy. It had by now been adapting to both the phoenix powers and nanites, too. It had been adapting for longer than the Elite Energy had been adapting. It had more pull. It could make the nanites attack the elite energy while the virus was resistant.

In short, the tables had turned. The Plex Virus, the Phoenix powers, and the nanites all combined were attacking the Elite Energy... And it was expelling it from the host bodies, spirits, and souls bit by bit.

The Elite Energy is more attached to the body, spirit, and soul than the infection. It's basically fastened to them It's fixed. Since it's more connected to the body than the infection, it had more control over the body, and further more, which part of the body attacks what. This allowed the Elite Energy to force the Phoenix powers, if necessary, to attack the infection. Same thing with C2's nanites. Plus, what brings the Elite Energy, the Phoenix powers, and the nanites together is that they all have one goal: to get rid of the Plex Virus. For each body, that makes the Plex Virus outnumbered two to one.

The Elite Energy is adaptive, yes, but it can also boost the adaptivity of others. In this case, it can make the nanites and the Phoenix powers adapt more, and it did. Plus, not only does it make things adapt more, it makes them stronger. The nanites became faster, stronger, more adaptive, more powerful, and above all, better. Same goes to the Phoenix powers. Elite Energy is like the best steroid you can get.

Sure, the infection has adapted more, but the Elite Energy's adaption rate is higher. Also, the infection never experienced the Elite Energy, but neither did the Elite Energy experience the infection ever. This would make it even, but only if the two's adaption rates are the same, but they aren't. Again, the Elite Energy's adaption rate is already higher, and in fact, it adapts at an increasing rate. It can adapt at an exponential rate, and even higher, if need be.

But that's not all. The Elite Energy was destroying the Plex Virus in many different ways. One of them was by incinerating them by heat. Yes, the Virus would adapt to it, but not entirely, not for Hikaru. Hikaru's a Phoenix, so she would benefit from the heat and grow stronger. That would cause the Elite Energy to grow stronger, and thus incinerate at a much higher temperature, which would cause Hikaru to grow stronger, which caused the Elite Energy to grow stronger and incinerate and burn at a higher temperature, and it continued in a loop. This causes the Virus to struggle to keep up its adaption with the increasing heat.

For C2, the Elite Energy would convert the infection into nanites. That way, as long as the infection was there, there was plenty of resources for constructing nanites. The Elite Energy would build them very, very fast, as well. It would also make sure that the conversion was safe, and the infection was dead, but taking a bit of the infection away from the rest, and kill it before it can multiply. The process was simple and easy. Soon enough, there was more nanites than the infection in C2's body.

Another problem the infection has, is that it has to adapt to more than one thing, causing it to adapt slower to each enemy. The Elite Energy only has to adapt to one thing: the infection. The infection has to adapt to the Elite Energy and the nanites in C2's body, and the Elite Energy and the Phoenix powers in Hikaru's body. That means the Virus has to sacrifice half of its adaption to the Elite Energy and half to C2's nanites, and in Hikaru's body, it had to sacrifice half of its adaption to the Elite Energy and half to the Phoenix powers. That means it would be weaker, and would cause the adaption rate against the Elite Energy to be a lot slower. The Elite Energy, however, can commit 100% of its adaption to the infection. Therefore, it can adapt a lot quicker than the infection.

There was also magic that's defending Hikaru and C2. This was also augmented in power by the Elite Energy. This is yet another thing the infection had to worry about. It has to split its adaption into thirds for each body. This also outnumbered the Plex Virus by three to one. To make things a lot harder for the Virus, Hikaru's and C2's magic were very, very powerful. This made things a lot easier for the soul, as that was where magic was produced. The Elite Energy was doing its job in the souls, too. This resulted in easy victory for the Elite Energy in the soul. For the body, it was soon won by the Elite Energy. For the spirit, the Spirit Energy itself, another problem the Virus has to encounter, and the Elite Energy. Again, with all the problems the Plex Virus had, the Elite Energy was victorious.

"KOTY!" Hikaru awoke with a start, throwing herself forward with so much force of panic that it was like she had seen death its self.  Her hands going immediately to her head, it took only a few seconds more for Hikaru to become aware and grasp what had exactly happened. He wasn't coming back. He wasn't even real...

Her eyes lowering to that revelation, Hikaru could feel the tears start return, and it took a moment of silence before she could finally look around. By now, her eyes had adjusted to the light, however, the room still hadn't come back into focus.  But she didn't care.  Right now all she wanted to do was disappear. To fall into her grief and dream that none of it ever happened.

Then it hit her. Why did she remember?

Hikaru closed her eyes, thinking back to her fight in the Sage Dimension. Filled with despair to the extent she wanted to die, Hikaru wanted nothing more than to erase it all. To forget every knowing Koty, and to rid herself of the pain and confusion. Through that, she had pushed her Phoenix powers, though they had been infected, to completely re-incarnate her. To return her to the state of a child and repress everything that had happened. So.. Why was she remembering all this? By all rights...

Hikaru quickly snapped out of her thoughts, her eyes darting left and right, then down. She was a child. Five to be exact. Hikaru had the form of a five-year-old, yet at the same time... She could remember... What the hell?

Her vision finally having returned, Hikaru quickly stood up and glanced around to her surroundings. What she saw? Didn't make her too happy. In this case, grief was stronger than anger, and all Hikaru could really word at the moment was, "...Where am I?"

The doctors were startled at Hikaru's sudden awakening and outburst. Gaserlake, however, seemed resistant to scares and remained calm. He was at her side. "Hospital," he said. "Some infection is taking you and C2 down. We're trying our best to counter it."

Her eyes darted to him at his answer, before she replied, "I pretty much already knew that much. But where? What happened? Where's K-," Hikaru choked on her words. She found it hard to say his name, before finally giving up. "Where's Destruction? Why am I here?!" Hikaru stood up and jumped to the floor on the opposite side from where Gaserlake stood, she then spun around and faced him, waiting for her answers.

By the looks of the place, Hikaru knew her time of freedom had just faded. If it was a hospital with Aralang doctors, it had to be what she feared. Aralia once more. There went the one loophole that had given her the ability to go wherever. Now she was stuck once more, bound and unable to leave. And it had tobe at the moment when she wanted more than anything to be alone. Hikaru sighed.

Her thoughts then brought her back to the mention of the infection, "You won't be able to counter it. I can pretty much make waiver by what happened, that, that was some part of Plex. K-, ... Destruction wouldn't have been there if not." Hikaru bit her tongue, forcing herself to not mention Koty. Closing her eyes, she focused, reaching inward to the magic within her, and immediately jumped, her eyes jolting back open. She could feel it. There was a war going on inside her, and even with Revelation, Genesis, and the rest of her magic to fight it, she could  feel herself weakening.

Hikaru frowned. She could probably seal it off and pull it out with a seal... But it was infecting all of her magic. And by the sound of it, C2323 was in the same situation. That left not one magic user as far as Hikaru could sense. Unless... Hikaru glanced at Gaserlake for a moment, before looking back. No. Never. She would just have to find another way.

"You're in an Aralang dimension," Gaserlake said. "You've been here before. Aralia is in trouble, as far as I know right now, so I couldn't take you there. Destruction's in the Sage Dimension, as far as I know. Again, you're here because you have a damn infection. I did the best I could with technology to help fight it."

Another dimension? So she was free. At least, not bound, yet. Hikaru grimaced, "Well your technology obviously failed. I'll get rid of it on my own, I don't need you." She started to walk away, then turned back as she neared the door. "So this is where we part ways." Hikaru went for the door, halfway there, realized there was no handle or knob, or anything of the sort, and scowled.

What kind of place was this? Grumbling to herself, she ran forward, intending to just kick the door down, and tumbled threw at the last moment when she realized to her surprise that it had opened its self. But it was too late, as Hikaru couldn't stop the running start she had taken, and ended up slamming into the wall of the hall.

Hikaru stood up, ignoring him and just walked away. She needed to find somewhere she could teleport out of this damn place. Before walking too far, she turned back. "Why do you care so much? I'm your damn enemy! Remember that! To you, and your race!" She walked away.

"Wait up, sis."

C2323 was at the doorway now, confining her to her medical room. "Looks like we had a full recovery, eh? I can't sense it in me anymore. But these bandit guys... I think they put some robotic technodizzers in me. I feel em buzzing."

What C2323 did not realize is that he felt his android nanites merging with his innerbody... But then, he realized something. "Say, Hikaru... That thing back in the valley... What was it?"

But yes, C2323 was right. What had been left of the virus had found itself out of their bodies through every entrance possible. The darkness had merged all in one point, somewhat undetectable... Until now. All in one moment, before those at Hikaru's medical room, it appeared. It looked like an Aralang, Hikaru, and an android merged together. It had a dark-gold strand of hair and dark-gold eyes.... And a dark aura surrounded it. It pointed its android arm at those in the room, a smile on his face.

...And it spoke in the voice of Plex -- the voice of the little boy.

"Pay."

And then, the room practically exploded as a wave of the dark residue moved out in all directions.

"Because I need your help, Hikaru," Gaserlake replied. "I need to talk to you about something."

He saw C2 at the doorway. "Oh, K2," Gaserlake said, purposely misnaming him as K2. "I see you're feeling better. Yeah, we did the best we could to save you both. It was one hell of an infection, I have to say."

Sensors detected the triple-figure to be the same as the infection. This wasn't good. The doctors were seriously hurt, while the Elite Energy in C2, Hikaru, and Gaserlake healed up the damage. Shields went up around the area to contain the dark residue, and these were strong shields, as well.

"I don't help enemies," Hikaru muttered before glancing to C2323, then turning back to Gaserlake. "I brought you back because I owed you my life, nothing more. Don't think we're on any different terms than before. That will never happen." Now that the infection was gone, Hikaru closed her eyes and focused her magic. When at last she re-opened them, she was back to her rightful age through age spell.

Turning to back to the room to glance at the massive signature that had just been released by the transformed Plex infection, Hikaru paused, stopping completely before glancing around her, a look of worry crossing her face. "Destruction is coming..." She glanced back at Gaserlake, then the trapped Plex Virus, then back to him. "Destruction is in your damn dimension, if you value your lives, then show me the damn way out of here. He wants to be unsealed, and is only after me. If I leave, he'll follow."

"C- Brother," Hikaru turned back to C2323. "It's Plex, something L-" Hikaru paused, remembering how far back C2323s memory was. "It's just something very powerful that... that aims to destroy you and Kai! For the Genesis powers.."

"Well, you've got four choices. You can blow up the dimension, rip a hole in the barrier, destroy enough stations that feed the barrier, or use Aralang technology," Gaserlake quickly replied.

(Edited to remove something, as it seemed OOC. It's legal, as Orph's post does not affect the change, and is not affected by the change.)

"We've got to destroy this -"

Boom. The Plex Infection had infected the barriers which had surrounded him, causing the generator/power-source which powered the barriers to explode. Attention of the Aralangs would be directed at the fire which now was starting to spread throughout the base from the explosion. It was no normal fire, either. It had hints of some black energy in it... And anyone who felt its heat would find themselves infected with the residue.

Plex looked at those in the room, smiling at them. "Brother... Coming.."

And then, it was gone. It had warped itself to another part of the base. A computer room. It began to infect the Aralang computers.

Hikaru stared at Gaserlake without saying a word. Was he serious? Or was this his idea of a joke? Hikaru shook her head, she didn't have time to think of about it. She'd just have to find her own way out. "C- Brother," Hikaru glanced back to C2323. "Plex must be stopped at all costs,  if you don't it...it's GOT KAI!" Hikaru finally shouted. She knew that if anything could get her brother, or her brothers clone, to fight with full power, it would be threat to family. "It's been controlling Kai behind the scenes, if you don't find it and defeat it, our brother dies!"

With C2323 taken care of, Hikaru turned back to Gaserlake, her eyes narrowed and an expression that basically said 'she wasn't going to accept no for an answer,' plastered across her face. "That detour you agreed on, I demand it happen now. So whether you were playing games before or not, show me how to get the hell out of here".

The moment Hikaru was in the room, golden flames flared up around her hands as she swore aloud, "What the hell?!" She exclaimed before catching herself from saying anymore through surprise. Glancing around quickly, she observed the room with a bit of a paranoid gaze. This place looked all to familiar to her, and Hikaru didn't like it one bit. Why this room? Why were they here? Keeping her calm, yet still keeping watch, Hikaru shook her head slowly at Gaserlake's question.
