The art of shaping

Shaping

The art of shaping is something that few people in the shattered planes dimension have access to. Even less have mastery of this technique. First in order to use this technique you must modify your body to streamline the production of energy. A very difficult task for some to do.

If you are successful :

The technique takes the energy the body does not use, what would normally form the extra body weight known as fat and converts it into energy. Which in turn can be used to create constructs. The more constructs you make however the more energy is required.

A question about this is what makes it different from magic by any means? Simple it is not magic, and no spells can be attempted with the use of this technique although by streamlining, you are able to mass produce the energy needed for magic. Teleports don't work with this technique and neither do spells of any variety. Further it requires focus to hold constructs in existence and that is another problem. If you lose concentration or focus for even one second the construct fades from existence. Meaning you have to recreate it all over again.

The constructs also have to be understood by the person who is making them. For example a regular soldier couldn't make a construct Mecha unless he understood how it worked and what all would be needed. Plus the fact it would require a MASSIVE amount of energy to create such a construct. And an unbreakable focus to keep said construct in existence. Besides that however it is also limited to what imagination that the user of said technique possesses.

1: Do you even know what the purpose of body fat is?

2: This just sounds like a shitty version of psionics, combined with intermediate Sierrensa practices.

3: True. Few people in the RP can use the art of Shaping, but many, many can use Psionics, which seems to me to be quite a better alternative, since it doesn't require constant concentration or the use of one's own chemical energy.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

1. Yes, the body fat provides energy reserves.
2. It is not.
3. True, it seems to you. But Anti Pysc shields would block Psionics one would think.

They would not, as psionics aren't psychic. Anti-psyc shields protect against telepathy and remote-viewing techniques such as clairvoyance, but that's it.

As for body fat, it stores nutrients and energy both for future use. You NEED at least some body fat to live because that is where your body stores the energy and nutrients it takes from food that it's not using immediately.

...And against the Lorcar.

Erherm...As far as this goes...There's no reason to NOT approve it, though it seems a much underpowered. Its focused towards a single thing...And can be easily countered by something like a shiny candy wrapper.

How about the fact that the use of it would very quickly kill the user, most likely before any real effect can be produced, unless the user is morbidly obese.
